The IBU points are way better, too bad IBU sucks so bad in publishing them (it's as good as impossible to keep track of the list) whereas FIS is great at that.

Rumour has it the cross-country qualifying is going to get a big change. No longer will being under 300 FIS points be enough, but first a nation has to get a quota, which can be earned (apparently) through the World Cups and World Championships (junior, U23 and senior) and only then can a nation send an athlete who is under 300 points. Much like the biathlon system. Good on one hand, but whether or not I'm happy with it depends on the amount of nations who can qualify through this system. If it's as shitty as in biathlon, that'd suck big time.
