  1. If a category 5 monster has been pounding the same island for over 24 hours (which in itself is unheard of) while barely moving, I really don't think it'll be much better than the scenes on Barbuda..it might have been if it had moved in a somewhat normal pace, then it would have been long gone now.
  2. Dorian has been stationary (yeah, it's not moving away...at all!) for 7-8 hours now. This is just ridiculous and pretty much never seen before. Poor, poor Bahamas.
  3. Spoilers!
  4. Some of the best non-racing action in motorsports for me is when NASCAR has a rain delay and they can't do much else but show what the drivers are doing. Especially loved Clint Bowyer going out in the rain to a single Alex Bowman-shirt wearing fan on the stands to have a chat (and burn his buddy who went to find some shelter and beer) and tell him to 'fix that Alex Bowman stuff dude'. Followed by a visit to a trailer where Kyle Larson, Denny Hamlin and Ricky Stenhouse were playing a golf video game and when asked who's the best, Hamlin's answer was it was of course Kyle "because he's Asian" (and before 'OMG RACIST' hits, it was Larson himself who started that about himself, all in good spirits) Plus Darlington, always a nice throwback weekend
  5. Did you play football with him where he was substituted for being just really bad? For the non-Dutch: in 2010 the biggest peanut butter brand had a commercial with a young 'Pieter' playing football, who was really bad and ended up being substituted by his coach, who told him "it's going better and better!". Some kid in the dugout tells him "You really can't play football!" to which young Pieter answers with a smile: "Nope." and then jumps into the local canal
  6. So if you hear "ja som malo pivo", the kid is in trouble
  7. I still can't believe Clark Ribeiro didn't do that 4 or 8 years later, but she did it in a time I wasn't paying attention to Brazilian winter sports yet Still, 9th. Wow.
  8. What I mean is like in Portuguese, where you and me would say "Obrigado" if we want to thank someone, whereas a woman would say "Obrigada" when thanking someone....so it's not about who you're saying it to, it's about what gender the speaker has
  9. I could look at the medal tables but that doesn't really say that much about good or bad Olympics, and I'm not old enough to remember those from the early 90's or before, so...tough question I remember the speed skating at Salt Lake City and Jochem Uytdehaage's epic sub-13 made a big impression on young me
  10. Do you have situations where what you say depends not on who you're saying it to or about, but what your gender is?
  11. Kurwa!
  12. And there goes Carapaz.
  13. When I open a random web page in Slovak it's all just a mystery to me, so I believe it.
  14. Sliding and crashing, here we go.
  15. And Gilbert goes back to Lotto-Soudal, Lennard Kämna goes from semi-German Sunweb to really German BORA, Masnada is going to CCC, Dan Martin to Israel Cycling Academy (wtf?), Benoot to Sunweb, Villella and Cataldo go together to Movistar, Formolo and Richeze come to UAE and Vincenzo Nibali to Trek. Weirdest of all though, which for me is in the same WTF-level as Quintana going to Arkea, is Viviani going to Cofidis And Alaphilippe going to St Michel-Auber 93 http://www.cyclingfever.com/transfers.html
  16. With a 5-point advantage for Puerto Rico
  17. I don't know how on earth it's possible but I'm on fire
  18. A frustrated one said in the heat of the moment* *moment of reading it happened
  19. Roompot, the team for young Dutch talents', is there as well. They're coming with such up-and-coming riders as Boy van Poppel (31 years old), Lars Boom (33) and Pieter Weening (38) '
  20. Nice news for Kristoff and Bonnet, Viviani has Sabatini with him so that gives chances to them Final start lists are there early by the way, more than two weeks to go
  21. Meh, it'd be a lot less symbolic if it's anything but the final Sorry Frank de Wit, you can fight for bronze.
  22. Yeah, vodka is Russian
  23. Not that it'd help other Iranian athletes or something, but I'm hoping for a Mollaei vs Muki Olympic final.
  24. Zuid - South Noord - North Midden - Middle (where I am) There's a list of which cities/provinces are part of which region: https://www.rijksoverheid.nl/onderwerpen/schoolvakanties/regios-schoolvakantie It's entirely due to spreading out the vacations, so not the entire nation is driving to France and Austria at the same time
