  2. I'll be more alive in a few days (and a few days after that, I'm going to her competitions in Germany so I'll be mostly inactive again )
  3. Two days of cross-country skiing in the last days of December in Iran. On the first day, athletes were really...really slow, even much slower than what one might expect from Iranian cross-country skiers (the winner of the women's race competed at the 2017 world championships and though she didn't come close to qualifying, she was not an eternity behind or something). https://www.fis-ski.com/DB/general/event-details.html?sectorcode=CC&eventid=44702&seasoncode=2019 On the second day however, both men and women were incredibly much faster. As in, more than 20 minutes faster than their time over the same distance a day earlier. That's not normal, especially for relatively experienced athletes like the women's winner. So, @MHSN, any idea what could have happened? Was there some sort of horror blizzard from hell on 30 December and perfect weather on 31?
  4. I'm surprised he got this far. Despite having quite a good number of good results already, he somehow always flies under my radar
  5. Take what you want because we are assholes
  6. Pursuits in stage races should only be as final stage anyway.
  7. Dear Lord, riots in Indian state of Kerala because two women were allowed to enter a hindu temple...so everyone is protesting to keep the right to discriminate against women.
  8. Also, the next pursuit will at least be clear: first across the finish wins the TdS, unlike this annoying stuff of having a pursuit in the middle of a stage race.
  9. So wait...if in the pursuit for example you start 20 seconds behind the leader and finish 5 seconds behind the winner, you lose 5 seconds for the GC instead of win 15 seconds?
  10. Wow. 2008 world allround champion Paulien van Deutekom has died yesterday, aged 37, after she was diagnosed with lung cancer a few months ago. This was apparently rather unknown among fans (possibly she didn't make this a public affair), meaning nobody saw this coming in any way, shape or form.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paulien_van_Deutekom
  11. Especially when I've watched a YouTube video with loud sound, then forgot to turn off the sound and accidentally break one of the lights and I'm like AH SHIT
  12. It's not frozen. If it was, it'd be ice and you wouldn't be able to swim in it
  13. Happy New Year New Zealand, @Wanderer, Fiji, Tonga and a whole bunch of islands
  14. Happy New Year to Samoa and parts of Kiribati
