  1. Not really, since to get bronze you usually have to get into repechages and to get into repechages you have to lose
  2. Dorian has slowed down even more, it's now moving with 1 mile or 2 kilometers per hour...which means passing Freeport alone would take 5-10 hours and that's just for the eye, not the wall around it.
  3. Some subtle British Petroleum sponsoring in there.
  4. Poor children, being forced by their parents actions to sit in the front
  5. Can we give some people to Dorian as a sort of sacrifice to keep it away? Freeport, home to almost 50 thousand people, is going to be totally destroyed..
  6. Hard to imagine such beauty can cause such deadly destruction.
  7. This is horrifying. Look at the time, this loop is over 5 hours and it's barely even moved halfway across the island.
  8. Not without reason
  9. Not entirely true. I'd miss the athletes who are forced to lose and whose careers are sabotaged by petty politics.
  10. Thank goodness that's not a thing here, no
  11. Considering how busy and annoyingly noisy the train was this morning, I think in my part of the country it is indeed the first day of school, but since I'm not in school, I don't really follow when the school ends and starts in which part of the country (it's split in three parts, which are sort of overlapping but not completely, to avoid too many traffic jams from people going on vacation ) I was out before the time on which children of lower ages would be cycling to school, so didn't really notice, but no, there's no specific tradition. Half of the children is going to school with a "fuck, vacation is over and life sucks" kind of mood, the other half is going all excited to share their vacation stories for a day and then get into the "is it weekend?!?!" mood just like any regular school day
  12. Nah, they would still be able to perfectly live their life. Literally the only consequence of their (scandalous) behaviour then would be that they wouldn't be able to visit the US Open again for a while...which seems ok since they resorted to booing one of the best players of the past 20 years anyway. Oh well, maybe next year they'll behave, one can hope
  13. Saw it last year. Anyone booing these athletes should be kicked out of the stadium and get a ban for the next 5 years. Losers.
  14. I highly doubt he actually made his prediction with a simple ruler No meteorologist has anything to answer for by the way, there's a gazillion factors involved in what happens with a hurricane. I mean, a week ago it looked highly unlikely Dorian would even come close to category 5 and now it's been totally destroying the land it hit.
  15. And there it is, Djokovic retired against Wawrinka with a shoulder injury. Of course the full stadium applauded and supported him.....oh wait, they booed, because they paid and their gladiator gave up. Which brings the number of consecutive years in which the US Open crowd didn't have scandalous behaviour from 0 back to 0.
  16. Once again IndyCar seems to be filled with a bunch of rookies only Graham Rahal causing quite some damage in the very first turn, resulting in a long caution, after which Ryan Hunter-Reay with a total suicide mission bombed Jack Harvey and himself out of the race within one and a half lap. And Rahal and Hunter-Reay are supposed to be the experienced guys there
  17. I can't wait for the 3 hours of nothing (except for maybe a qualifying here and there) followed by 2 hours filled with 16 finals! I love not being able to watch most of the things
  18. Yeah, and you'd never guess, but it wasn't even close! It might have something to do with them being the only big team in LMP1, but who knows, maybe it was a lucky hit
  19. To be fair, everyone is entitled to their opinion right? I'd like to clarify when I said 'wrong' I only meant that as a joke
  20. The WEC season opened today with the 4 hours of Silverstone and much to the surprise of absolutely nobody in the entire world, Toyota went home with a 1-2 win.
  21. Absolutely, but the danger is that people go outside when the eye passes, without realizing the other side of the eye wall (the stronger side!) is going to hit very soon and very hard.
  22. Second landfall on the island, Dorian is about to sweep up all that hasn't been destroyed yet. Holy shit.
  23. Hurricane or no hurricane, I'd say no thanks to that anyway
