  1. XC World Cup in Minneapolis. https://www.fis-ski.com/en/cross-country/cross-country-news-multimedia/news/2019-20/fis-cross-country-world-cup-races-in-minneapolis-usa-cancelled
  2. Apparently there's a general press conference in a few minutes in Norway, people are pretty much expecting the result of this will be - among other things of course - a cancellation of the rest of RAW AIR. Let's see. Edit: decision about RAW AIR is planned for 14:00
  3. Since F1 has said they'd cancel if a team has to withdraw, it's most likely going to be a matter of hours before they do so...
  4. An overview of some of the football competitions in Europe. X speaks for itself, 'zonder publiek' means without spectators (England is 'probably without spectators) and 'mét publiek' means 'with spectators). I think most country names are pretty self-explanatory, maybe Oostenrijk (Austria) and Duitsland (Germany) as exceptions.
  5. If one player is infected, one can assume there's going to be quite a lot more.
  6. 'confirmed cases' I just read a news item from 31 December where they mentioned 27 (confirmed) cases. At the very least China put millions and millions of people in lockdown relatively early, we are still doing almost literally nothing (the Netherlands, that is).
  7. But in the first days it wasn't that clear yet it could potentially be this damaging. At the end of December news came out already with less than 30 confirmed cases in Wuhan and a day or two later, the market was closed, followed by pretty strong lockdowns not that much later (and the WHO being informed early January as well). If it started in September and it went 'international' in terms of news when it did I'd be more angry, but even as someone who thinks China is rather shady at best with these things, I don't think their initial response was all that bad.
  8. For reference: everyone is there and free training starts tomorrow morning (so in 14 hours or so)
  9. Good, I'm still trying to catch up on last year's World Cup
  10. XC World Cup has three stages to go: Quebec, Minneapolis and Canmore, I think we can assume Minneapolis at least to be scrapped now with the travel ban from Europe.
  11. Yes, but this didn't exactly help contain it
  12. What's the problem with VPNs?
  13. Fired up Netflix yet?
  14. A surprisingly not-dumb thing coming out of his mouth. Half of China travelling around the world in the midst of an outbreak in China and a lot of European countries barely doing anything until it's rather late are two of the main factors..
  15. What an asswhipe. Gobert is the guy who tested positive, this was three days ago:
  16. And even if people themselves decide not to come, it'll basically just be Alexandra Palace on a mid-December day after 23:00
  17. Press releases to announce a competition is as of yet not cancelled. What a world
  18. Ajax and Feyenoord fans have reacted most surprised of all about that: "Wait, they play football in Brabant?" And yeah, trains coming from there to Utrecht without troubles. Luckily Utrecht's train station is totally not the central transport hub in the Netherlands at all
  19. It most likely would be totally irrelevant anyway except for the die hards like us who would follow it anyway
  20. Banning religious events One of the main Christian (strict!) newspapers here published an article only this week saying that especially now people should not stop going to church, because now we need prayers more than ever Yeah thanks man, that's exactly the strict Christian kind I live in the middle of here in these towns Superspreaders galore
  21. Told you people were going to disagree. You may find it bullshit, that's fine. I do not
  22. Where do you see the numbers?
  23. Sure, but she was simply the best overall skier this season. People are surely going to disagree with that, but I don't much care and think she's the deserved champion anyway.
