  1. Yeah, if you don't follow it at all I can imagine that's what you'd think But a couple of minutes of 'research' combined with a tiny bit of following it thrioughout the year and then it's pretty clear
  2. Dozens of different circuits in international tennis? Basically there's three or four tiers, just like a ton of sports have more than one layer.
  3. After an awesome virtual DTM race (first one was meh, second one was a thriller), now the first 'official' F2 virtual race
  4. Instead of saying I forgot that, I'm gonna counter with "the Bible says they're the same"
  5. I believe we have some day on the Thursday before it, but I'm not sure I get easily confused about on which days the dude was killed, went up, came back down, went up again etc.
  6. Fantastic, on the first day* I have to start a job and so have to use public transport * Actually that's on 2 June, since 1 June is one of those Christian holidays...not second Easter day but the other one where they 'celebrate' Jesus took the sky cloud taxi or something
  7. Right, face masks in public transport obligated from 1 June, for the obvious reason: the number one protective precaution, keeping distance, simply isn't possible in trains and buses when they start getting fuller again. Strict rule that medical masks are not allowed though, that's good.
  8. Meanwhile a new press conference here about some lifting of restrictions and some other things. Rumours about face masks being obligated in public transport, but they haven't been confirmed by the prime minister (yet?). His words about that again show the things are mostly based on science: "Evidence that the widespread use of face masks has a significant effect, is very thin. There are, however, some studies that show that correct use - and I'm stressing the words 'correct use' - have limited, but positive effects. However, face masks meant for use in healthcare should absolutely remain for healthcare workers only, that is crucial." For now, next week things like hairdressers can reopen. In June things like bars will be reopened, with of course limits in terms of the maximum number of people who can enter. As always, the main thing remains to keep your distance when possible.
  9. And being so jealous of my elementary/middle school buddy who had a GameBoy and so could play the Pokémon games.
  10. It seems as good as certain the Bundesliga will resume in the second half of May. I hope all these big football federations and clubs, who find themselves so important, won't try and get hundreds and hundreds of tests that are needed for people who actually need it, instead of to let football get underway again..
  11. Exactly why comparing different countries makes barely any sense.
  12. I loved the Pokémon cards when I was a kid But I don't remember ever actually playing the 'main' game one was supposed to play with it, nobody at school did that, we just had other games to end up with more cards
  13. Those who didn't watch it won't, indeed.
  14. Exactly: being banned from a couple of these iRacing events. Just like someone who has amassed certain penalties in real racing is still perfectly allowed to race a virtual race but not a real race. Especially in the case of Pagenaud, for Ferrucci I'd have less problems with it being different since he's actually shown to be a jerk and, more importantly, a danger on a real race track.
  15. Not being in the next few iRacing events is really more than enough. No forced forfeiting prize money (although it'd be a good show if they'd take the prize money and donate it to a charity - not that some trash like Ferrucci would do that, but Pagenaud doesn't generally seem to be a bad guy), no withholding of points. In the end fans are watching to have some fun, and most of the race definitely was, up to the very last lap. Those were asshole moves and I'd rather see any race without Ferrucci, but dear lord, can we just stop making it sound like they killed someone. People overreacting so enormously about this make it sound like I'm defending Ferrucci, that's not what I wanna do at all
  16. Formula E is sim racing though, for a few weeks already. With almost all actual drivers present (I think except for one or two who don't have the equipment yet), another thing they and most top series have ahead on F1, where maybe half the field is participating and the other half doesn't much care for it - F1 needs to use their own game instead of something good like iRacing, and people like Norris and Verstappen just aren't really into that (Norris uninstalled it after the game just froze and he was kicked out of the race for the second time). Punishing Pagenaud and Ferrucci for the real life season would be complete bullshit. Come on, those were asshole moves, but punishing a rider in the real life season for something they did in a virtual race is downright bullshit, period.
  17. Oh well, those people who somehow can only be a fan of one series aren't worth the time anyway But yeah, that was a shitshow by Pagenaud but even more so by Santino Ferrucci, who purposefully pushed Oliver Askew into the walls 100m before the finish (Askew was winning, Ferrucci thought it was Mario Kart and he could win that way). Most other IndyCar drivers seemed to agree that was a shit move by Ferrucci (who is known as a major asshole anyway, just look at him in GP2), Conor Daly quite clearly told him he didn't need to do that. Luckily these things exist though, they are often great fun indeed I don't find all of them as interesting: the Formula E and virtual F1 races aren't so much my thing for example, they just don't really find the right mix between fun and serious racing. IndyCar is doing well, but I find NASCAR the most fun by far. Good contact with the drivers during the race, Clint Bowyer in the studio is always good for laughs and especially when Jeff Gordon joint him a week ago it was wonderful fun. I can't wait for real racing to get underway, but my race loving heart is happy we've got some excellent entertainment in this, with both young and old drivers joining in.
  18. One of the first lifters I watched in awe with a sense of no weight being too heavy for him. That epic battle in Almaty for the world title against Nurudinov and Bedzhanyan...man, that was something, from all three! Three attempts, three consecutive world records
  19. Wow, I knew Nordic combined has very tiny depth, but a team with two athletes I've never in my life heard of (and yes, I watch all the World Cups and always check results of Continental Cups) finishing 6th at the world championships says quite something for me Not good of course when 75% of the main team leaves. Edit: wait, Marusarz was not in that team, Pawel Slowiok was and at least he sounds sort of familiar
  20. Ah yes, the nowadays lovely one-day race 'Three Days of De Panne'. And before Vlaanderen...
  21. Never in my life have I heard of her, but thanks
  22. Luckily we're still going to Guangxi!
  23. I just don't have much experience with sports games other than some racing games (Grid Autosport), that somewhat dumb but fun little darts game and the now defunct alpine skiing game of Greentube or something (downhill only)
