  1. Exactly. Basically Bolshunov tried to get into a space that did not exist. Yeah, then it goes wrong. Although it would still be great to finally get an angle from the front from the moment they're still in the corner. The replays started a little too late.
  2. There are riots going on in the Dutch city of Eindhoven at the moment. They say it's against the COVID-19 restrictions, but it's not even a week since Donald Trump left the White House...coincidence?
  3. 6:05.14 for Patrick Roest in Heerenveen...just, wow. That is absurd Track record by over three seconds, after years of marginal improvements
  4. Just tagging @brunamoura who has...let's say, an opinion on the move of Mäki I'm against that opinion by the way, this was all on Bolshunov.
  5. Excellent day for the North Americans so far.
  6. The bad news is that Van der Poel most likely will miss out on the 10k at the world championships, unless he beats Engebraten's time (unlikely) in the A division next week or someone withdraws. ISU's criteria to qualify for the 10k via the 5k are total insanity
  7. Dear lord what a times, and that's only the B division (sure, it was a start with 4 riders per race, but still)
  8. Oh yes, I can totally see Clarey's potential win being stopped due to weather.
  9. At least it makes for easy breakfast watching while catching up with some other sports
  10. Hopefully it'll be all fine for the whole course and not a start after the Mausefalle or some crap like that..
  11. Finally! Last time he was close, but even making a World Cup final wasn't enough First ever Dutch snowboard cross win
  12. I wonder how many Russians were dumped in Moldova lately. This guy, Pavel Magazeev last season (after a 10-year absence), Alina Stremous who appeared out of absolutely nowhere and is consistently posting top skiing times...
  13. Last week Tom Dumoulin said he was looking forward to the season. Tour de France, Olympics and world championships were the main goals. Today he announced he's going to take a break in his career for an unknown period of time, so that's most likely it for at least this year.
  14. Yesterday a new Dutch TV program started: Marble Mania, I'm sure you can all guess what it's about 1.4 million viewers, which is very, very big for a new show at that time slot (20.30h). Not a fan of the whole commercial aspect after it was a fun little obscure thing online for years, but alright. The 'creator', John de Mol, wants to turn it into an international hit, just like he already did with Big Brother and The Voice.
  15. I'd still like for someone to come up with statistics per shot and statistics per shot for athletes who started with 19 hits and/or who are in with a podium chance, curious to see whether or not there really is a lower average for the last shot(s) - also compared with the other standing shots, since that's harder than prone anyway. Chances are there's not as much of a difference as people think there is, but last-shot misses stay in one's memory way easier
  16. Awesome photos, it's even more orange than it looks on the stream
  17. By the way, no Guido The Voice Ratti on the stream, where is he, the guy who's been doing St Moritz commentary for nearly 40 years?
  18. Loving the orange Slovakian sled of Cernanska/Horvathova @hckosice (unless the cameras somewhat change the colour and it's actually red, but I'm going with cheering for the orange )
  19. No Lauberhorn this season sadly, but today we'll have the first of two (!!) downhills on the Streif At 11.30 it's time to drop everything and tune in Sadly Johan Clarey had a hard fall at the finish jump yesterday. No injuries it seems, but he's rather busted up.
  20. Also pushing for adjustments though: https://www.theage.com.au/sport/tennis/victoria-azarenka-leads-push-for-hard-quarantine-adjustment-20210122-p56w4b.html Which seems fair, otherwise the event will either have to be moved up by a week or so or be taken even less serious.
  21. Most of the shots sounded normal to me, but yeah there were a few at some point that sounded like a laser or something
