  1. We have to be 2.224 points better than our score at the World Championships to beat Romania and take the 4th spot. This is how it is so far, compared with Glasgow 2015: Pommel horse: +1.867 Rings: -1.400 (logical, without Van Gelder) Vault: +0.334 Parallel bars: +0.534 Total: +1.335 Meaning we have to make up let's say half a point on average on high bar and floor. Zonderland should be able to clearly improve his 14.300 on the high bar in Glasgow, but I wonder how much risk he will take..
  2. It's gonna be very close against Romania..
  3. How come? I thought that was organized by the same federation/company as the Euroleague. Still, after some reading about it, I still hope Champions League-system like in football will replace Euroleague
  4. As an outsider it seems FIBA's whole point, against that weird Euroleague with a list of pre-qualified teams, is very good, but they are playing it absolutely horrible As said here above: FIBA is probably trying to bluff or something.
  5. And judging by this photo it looks like they don't have to play "covered", which I can imagine would hinder them a lot: So that's awesome Besides, they're all young (14, 15 since this week and 19), so there's actual potential to grow a team there.
  6. I know what a "game" means in tennis However, winning 1 game in 11 rubbers seemed so impossible that I couldn't believe it Actually in 14 rubbers by the way
  7. Our team definitely has a chance as well, especially since Yuri van Gelder isn't here now (like at the World Championships) and there's an actual all-round gymnast in his place. Obviously we won't beat the Germans and beating the French doesn't seem very likely neither, but the Romanians might be possible, the Spanish should be possible and the Belgians shouldn't cause major problems.
  8. I've contacted both her and the Guamese shooting federation on Facebook because I just have to know what's behind all this
  9. She managed to hit another target in the 3rd round today
  10. On the positive side, at least Lara Gut is still called Gut
  11. Anna Fenninger will be Anna Veith from today. The tragic reason? She got married
  12. Luckily Karamete won against Mondt, or else that would have been terribly sad for the Dutch girl.
  13. WTF, Mondt one match away from a theoretical place in Rio Theoretical though, because no way she will actually qualify according to Dutch standards She's about 300 places too low on the world ranking for that.
  14. Thanks And shame on Cibulkova for beating her
  15. I thought with "one game" you meant one match, but no, 1 match ended 6-0, 6-1 and the other 10 with 6-0, 6-0, that's sad To be fair, two of them were only 14 when the week started (one turned 15 at the day of the match against Hong Kong)..
  16. We had a great start against France with Kiki Bertens beating Caroline Garcia, but Kristina Mladenovic not surprisingly was too strong for Richel Hogenkamp: 1-1.
  17. Why is this the first time I ever saw this Abanda girl? Starting today, I am a Francoise Abanda fan
  18. Is it normal in taekwondo to fake a leg injury? And why would one do that? I mean, what kind of advantage could you get from that? http://www.rappler.com/sports/specials/olympics/129747-ph-jin-books-ticket-rio It's what Muhammad Fareem of Pakistan did apparently.
  19. Van der Mark fought for a historic win (would have been the first Dutch SBK win ever) but fell in the second-to-last lap Until that moment it was a great "party"..
  20. Read like 2 posts above you
  21. What is Bas Verwijlen's event and how's he doing? Edit: I just remembered he already qualified
  22. Why even have trials with 2 athletes if they might select the loser anyway? Wouldn't that be extremely unfair?
  23. No that's science fiction
