  1. To think we lost against these amateurs in qualifying.....twice
  2. I think it can be summarized like this? Will Russian athletes compete in Rio under the Russian flag? No. Could Russian athletes compete in Rio under the Olympic flag? Possibly.
  3. IAAF has kept Russia's ban for all international competitions, but left an opening for "provably clean athletes" to start in Rio according to some journalists. Question is how they'd prove that: their athletes only competed in Russia this year and the doping controls in Russia are nothing but a joke (like international testers being sent away by armed guards). I think it's up to the IOC and what they decide next week.
  4. Ah yes, true Either that or 32 teams, but then you'd have a ton of qualifying matches to only eliminate teams like Gibraltar, San Marino, Netherlands, Andorra and Liechtenstein.
  5. Let's go Croatia, give Srna an emotional victory please.
  6. IAAF press conference starts in around a minute or so. Live here:
  7. Is it just me (and the people on TV) or is it actually kind of a boring tournament so far? I mean, so few goals, mostly only in the end of matches...not much happens
  8. And yet another late match-winning goal.
  9. The journalists aren't sure yet about what IAAF decided. One said "The suspension stays", another says "The suspension stays but demonstrably clean athletes might go if IOC says so" while yet another says there has not been any decision made yet
  10. Two matches (nearly) done, 0 shots on goal for Sweden
  11. I just can not get enough of that awesome anthem Also, I'm hoping for Guidetti goals today
  12. No! Because the track is so extremely tight in some places... I'm especially afraid about turn 8, where they pass some sort of ancient tower. Also parts where they reach speeds of 340+ with only a relatively small place to avoid the walls. I really hope I'm wrong, but I would not be surprised to see a very serious accident there this weekend. Especially in GP2 which is of course full of young guys wanting to prove what they can do.
  13. No, we really do not. 100 is more than enough if you ask me.
  14. Out of curiousity: how much is the World League "alive" in volleyball-loving countries this year? I mean, isn't it basically just a warm-up for the Olympics like the Champions Trophy in field hockey for most nations?
  15. No idea if they'll actually work but I see some links here: http://www.sportcategory.com/c-6.html Free advice: Use an ad-blocker
  16. They have money to buy all the OQT's but no money to get decent infrastructure I'm guessing there's no stream of these deciding matches neither?
  17. Time for the first training in Baku... Let's hope everything will go alright, but I've got a bad feeling about this weekend.
  18. Might just mean Trinidad & Tobago isn't that bad after all
  19. Wouldn't it be a better idea to just use a system where the Top-X athletes in event Y qualify a quota place (with of course the usual maximum number of athletes per nation per event)?
  20. Dutch 15 year old swimmer Liesette Bruinsma broke the S11 50m freestyle world record yesterday in Dordrecht (NED). Her swimming in S11 means she is blind...what did she get as reward for breaking the WR? A coupon for the local cinema
  21. Ah yeah, Kallur's race was really impressive! I was so incredibly annoyed by the Dutch commentator who didn't mention a single word about how special it was that Kallur competed there yesterday....in fact, he asked: "I don't know why the director is showing Kallur so much, but alright"

  23. Yeah we've been wondering when it finally is our turn
  24. What's happening with Irene Ekelund? It's already a long time ago she had a good race and now again it looked so bad/"forced"
