  1. The battle for Nurnberg was awesome imo. Definitely a highlight of the greatest WC i've seen live Last nights match was nothing like that.
  2. History repeats itself, as Netherlands have an awful record against Czechia. They have won only 1 game from 5-6 at a Big Championship and have 30% or so wins from all the matches played between them.
  3. Yeah, i have to agree that this years VNL was a complete waste. The lack of interest and replies here just shows it. This whole new system feels so broken. With every year, since they'd changed it, the interest is shrinking. And the schedule is brutal for the players. Our team said, that after the first 7-8 matches, we caught a few injuries and after that only 9-10 people had to finish the league. They were getting so tired by the end, that everyone just wished it was finally over with.
  4. Well deserved lead for Czechia Better team all match, even before the red card.
  5. Finally! This took way too long..
  6. Mancini needs to make subs ASAP
  7. A crash in stage 1 of the Tour, i'm shocked It happens like every year. Couldn't watch today, but i suspect Sagan & Valverde were among the casualties, as their gap is quite big?
  8. Yes, but the athletes are all equal on these things. From the best to the worst, from the richest to the poorest, everyone is allowed to have such things (well, unless you are russian of course). It doesn't matter, where you come from, or what you're backstory is. But not all athletes are allowed to say or do the messages they want.
  9. Hmm, universal values for 30 countries out of 200, very universal indeed.
  10. [hide] Knockout Round - Round of 16 June 26th - July 11th, 2021 16 Nations, Winners of each Round of 16-matches will qualify for the Quartfinals Round of 16 Date & Time (GMT +2, CEST) Nation 1 T1 T2 Nation 2 June 26th 2021, h. 18:00 Wales 1 2 Denmark June 26th 2021, h. 21:00 Italy 2 0 Austria June 27th 2021, h. 18:00 Netherlands 0 1 Czech Republic June 27th 2021, h. 21:00 Belgium 3 1 Portugal June 28th 2021, h. 18:00 Croatia 0 2 Spain June 28th 2021, h. 21:00 France 2 0 Switzerland June 29th 2021, h. 18:00 England 1 1 Germany June 29th 2021, h. 21:00 Sweden 1 0 Ukraine [/hide]
  11. So the IOC is just covering their asses as usual. They know athletes will undoubtedly do the BLM and if they fine, strip, DQ them, they will get a tornado from the twitter klan, so let's just say we are "letting" them do it.
  12. Federer is done. I can't see him making another Slam final. Lack of match practice, slower in movement, tiring faster. He can lose and has been losing to players, he'd be sweeping in hour 10 minutes 5-6 years ago. I'll be stunned, if he makes it to the 1/2.
  13. MVDP to make the perfect start in his TdF career
  14. Slovakia volleyball team now hiring spikers.
  15. How can they let Morata take the penalty If he wasn't already public enemy number 1 in Spain, surely, if they are eliminated he will be.
  16. And then the West is always baffled, how can far-right politicians be growing and taking more power, when in fact they are the ones putting them there
  17. All riders are now known, just days before the biggest battle of the year. 2.5 super teams in Jumbo, Ineos and UAE to conduct how the race will go. I can't see anyone else having a crack on them, unless Movistar somehow can be a cohesive unit, which we all know isn't their specialty. Pogacar isn't going alone this time, which will give him some breathing space. And he will need it, because, if people thought last years Jumbo team was scary, i'm afraid what is going to happen this time. Roglic will be a man on a mission.
  18. Let's see, if Croatia will avoid embarrassment and push through. And on the other hand, will England try to avoid the first place.
  19. Wait, i thought the Swiss Supreme Court (or how it is called) ruled in his favor and against CAS. Why has a retrial been done?
  20. Save this thought for the coming years.
  21. This thread should have been closed 2 days ago, since it was to be expected that we would tare each other apart.... This is exactly why i'm holding back, even though i can say a lot of things, because there is no point other than insulting each other.
  22. Tennis at the Olympics has always been in a peculiar position. It's a big enough sport with some of the most famous athletes, but with 10+ other sports at the same time, you won't be watching round 1 matches all day. You have to have some legendary matches happening like Federer-Del Potro, Djokovic - Del Potro, or it's the final stages to really get peoples attention. After back-to-back Grand Slams and just a few weeks before another, i don't see how you can devote hours of watching your ordinary Mertens - Pegula matches, when you've seen them all year long. I honestly think they should have it starting the monday before the Opening Ceremony and have the first 4-5 days only for it (and the usual football). It will fit with the regular tennis calendar and players can go prepare for the US after that and it would be a nice introduction to the competitions and you can still have the medal matches after the Opening Ceremony.
  23. We are one for example. Every medalist gets a fixed bonus, when winning the medal and then a lifetime monthly pension. Their coaches also get monthly Olympic pensions, but after retirement age i think. There are bound to be others, who also reward their medalists, but i'm getting tired to look it up.
  24. Does New Zealand have a lifelong pension for its Olympic medalists, like other countries? If so, this seems like a genius way to be set for life at 43.
