Next move for Wta is to have ten tournaments in the middle east.

173 out of 193 UN member states cosposored olympic truce resolution for Beijing 2022. Well done China!

Lmao we already had two female presidents with the first being elected 30+ years ago. If the polls is accurate, I guess we are going to have a third female president soon.

Where does it says that?
Bbc is a self proclaimed constitution of democracy.

Is Djokovic a major antivaxer?

Peng Shuai signing tennis balls in junior challenger final in the capital Beijing. The cpc official is probably getting investigated too but i guess it's time to move the goal post once again.

Have any athletes indicated they won’t be attending due to refusing to be vaccinated?
Probably tennis players, a lot can be very dramatic when it comes to vaccines.

Beijing 2022 twitter account is now hiding replies containing Peng Shuai and blocking people that mention them about it. Yikes.
You’d expect the official Olympics social media manager to be a bit more professional.
Numerous Award winning western journalists who advocates about free speech in nonwestern countries always delete replies they dont agree with. But they are supposed to be professional and non biased.

I think there are many reasons why western countries MIGHT be doing worse than asian countries, for example:
- More densely populated
- More travelling
- Older population
- Lower vaccination rate?
- More people using public transport every day?
- More averse to wearing masks?
Of course there are also western countries (New Zealand, Australia, some scandinavian countries?) that are doing at least as good as asian countries.
Right now we are averaging at hundred cases a day and our airports are open again. Some tourists might bring it here and cause another surge in our cases.

Because they count them, unlike others.
We count ours too.

It's funny seeing athletes throwing tantrums just because of vaccines.

I'm excited for the second greatest opening ceremony ever for an olympics, the Beijing 2008 is the best of course.

Why do western countries struggle too much when it comes to this, thousands of cases every day (even reaching a hundred thousand per day in usa)? This is like the 4th wave already? Is the health care system not efficient there or something?
-
I hope usa and norway will boycott the games to make it easier for China to top the medal table again.

One only wonders if there will be any snow (just like for any other venue this Olympics).
I few days ago, Beijing got blanketed with heavy snow and it's not winter yet. But yes we have to wonder if there's going to be any snow in these venues.

It's not really news, but I had no idea where else to ask it, so here we go. Is there any news on whether or not China will allow the thousands of athletes to use their regular social media in the Olympic village or something? On one hand I can imagine there being some relaxation of rules for such a huge and incredibly international event, on the other hand it's China, so it's hard to get a sense on it...
@Vic Liu Have you heard anything about this by any chance?
In my case it's of course mostly about how to stay in touch with @brunamoura if she qualifies, since she'll be there for three weeks or so in that case. We generally use WhatsApp, but yeah....
Never heard of vpn, tons of Chinese are in twitter thanks to vpn.

A missed opportunity for France, if they joined, the acronym is going to be FAUKUS.

President Vladimir Putin will attend the Beijing Olympics thanks to President Xi Jinping's invitation.
It's great to see that a developing nation like China will get a visit from a president of a superpower country.

Great job Raducanu, she needs to celebrate with her supportive grandmother in the beautiful country of the People's Republic of China.
Happy for Medvedev too, good to see Russia conquering tennis again.
As for Novak, no worries cause he will likely win at least two grand slams next year.

Chile, Brazil and Indonesia's cases have gone down now. Hoping for our cases to go down soon too.

For the only sport that matters (moguls) SLC’s venue remains the greatest of all times :P
(I am much more excited for Milan’s venues tbh, Olympic biathlon in Antholz is gonna be nuts)
Tbh, only venue I care about is the one for short track because that's my favorite winter sport.

I might sound like a weirdo but I'm willing to eat lab grown meat (as long as it's healthy and taste just as good) if it becomes available. Going vegetarian is a no for me, I prefer vegetables as side dish lol.
