  1. Aurimas Didžbalis is 3rd in Men's 94kg
  2. I see. Yet men's qualification looks horrible to me: all will have very weak weightlifters in Rio, just because they spammed the entry list, while some countries (f.e. 3xBaltics ) did not even tried as they secured the individual ranking quotas anyway. This system has it own flaws. At least we managed to avoid qualifying who's men lifters perform weaker than top ladies in their competition.
  3. But is it worth it for GB to have a weightlifter in Rio that might finish last? It is not Judo where there is still possibility for bronze for everybody,
  4. I mean NBA is also commercialised and don't share it's profit with FIBA Americas, why USA not banned? If need for money is bigger than sport itself for FIBA - basketball should be dropped from Olympics (same what it was with baseball) or get reduced to U23 (same what it was with football).
  5. LOL. Other reports also mentions And that is how European basketball died because of money...
  6. All teams disqualified from Eurobasket 2017: This means that 3 out of 4 semifinalist from 2015 will not be competing. Good luck Iceland and Monaco. Go for your first title...
  7. FIBA disqualified from Eurobasket 2017 since 2 Lithuanian clubs chose to compete in Euroleague and EuroCup
  8. I know, it's sad. This situation was happening for almost 20 years now in Lithuanian weightlifting, which pretty much stopped the progress of this sport in country. Plus those specially selected ones by federations always end up in doping scandals... Yet we still get to see some talents shining in some of the competitions while others chose powerlifting or kettlebell-lifting..
  9. Because our federation decided to send A.Didžbalis and no one else can even try to replace him. Pretty much why our federation send only 5 guys to Euro Champs so there won't be possible for team quota and Didžbalis would qualify through rankings with "less drama".
  10. Silver for Stanulis Sadly he won't even compete in Olympics. Even if Lithuania wins quota in Euros it will go to Didžbalis (famously disqualified for doping before London 2012) who is not even bothered to compete in E CH.
  11. secured +1 in women's competition. Before the last day all failed to qualify. Battle for remaining 5 quotas: can get 7 extra points can get 9 extra points can get 9 extra points can get 10 extra points can get 28 extra points can get 24 extra points can get 38 extra points can get 34 extra points can get 42 extra points that all can interrupt the top6 (with most optimistic counting) And here is the fictional top 10 standings if the last ladies event would end up according to the entry list weights: 98 points 98 points 98 points 93 points 87 points 85 points ---- 78 points 75 points 74 points (no chance) 73 points
  12. Pitty to loose to all those Chinese bought athletes... Anyway, we shuold have one player through rankings anyway.
  13. Sad to see Venckaitis loosing. World Championships medallist should not lose so early...
  14. Can anyone see the broadcast? It is geo-restricted...
  15. Glad to see quota for Lithuania. Hope for the second one with E.Stanionis
  16. Yay, two Lithuanians in semifinals. Jopefully both makes it. Both deserve it as E.Petrauskas was bronze medalist in 2012 London and E.Stanionis is 2015 European champion.
  17. So let's ban every single athlete with parking ticket and etc. then....
  18. How is gambling at (illegal) casino is related to badminton and Olympics?
  19. Team Lithuania in European Qualification Tournament Men's Tomas Mikutis (ITTF - 221) Alfredas Udra (ITTF - 320) Women's Rūta Paškauskienė (ITTF - 103) Eglė Stuckytė (ITTF - 230)
  20. Discus Thrower Andrius Gudžius broke his leg and quite likely to miss Rio.
  21. And why she chose to represent Romania? I doubt they paid her like Azerbaijan before. She could had just go back to representing Moldova...
  22. Something is definitely wrong. All of the Lithuanians reached their PB and even the athlete who finished "20km" course for the first time in her life reached Olympic standard.
