  1. Thank you dcro. There's no coverage of equestrian in Lithuanian media and its really amazing to see the progress of this sport in the country.
  2. 01/04/22: In response to the war, Lithuania are the first EU country among Gazprom's supply countries to gain independence from Russian gas supplies, Lithuania no longer orders Russian gas and no longer plans to pay for it. Country been operating without Russian gas import since beginning of the month and completely fulfilling countries' needs via Klaipeda's LNG terminal named INDEPENDENCE, also supplying requirements for Latvia's and Estonia's transition systems. In addition, from 1st of May, Lithuania and Poland will join their gas transmission systems with first pipeline between two countries to connect Baltic states with European grids. tweet from Lithuanian president G. Nauseda: 02/04/22: Latvia and Estonia announced following the same path and immediately stopped any Russian gas imports
  3. World Series has started and worth noting that this season there's also male solo category
  4. It's unfortunate that none of the female cyclists coming forward to express their feelings and opinions. Understandable, considering they would be condemned as homophobes and so on, but on the other hand, we seem not to have an open dialoge about trans representation in sports and it's creating more friction and probably just more difficult and negative atmosphere for those trans athletes themselves..
  5. Women's wrestling even less competitive... Some categories have just 6 wrestlers! Unsure why Lithuania haven't sent their women's A team as well, seems like we didn't even tried...
  6. Barely even 10 wrestlers in some of the freestyle weights at Europeans...
  7. Unsure if mentioned before, but Baltic countries been renaming streets next to Russian embassies aswell. Lithuania: Ukrainian Heroes street Latvia: Independent Ukraine Street https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/mar/10/lithuania-names-road-leading-to-russian-embassy-ukrainian-heroes-street

  19. First portion of 2022 sport funding for Lithuanian sport announced as Ministry of Education and Culture announced numbers of sports funding via central government. Sport funding in Lithuania have multiple layers from both central and regional government bodies, therefore this is just the first portion of funding. Interestingly enough, it was announced that all official funding for Judo were cut down to 0, due inadequate use of previous funding and arguments within Lithuanian Judo Federation. There were multiple articles surrounding disagreements within Judo community in Lithuania as multiple breakaway Judo federations started to operate in the country. Unfortunately this is only going to hurt the development of this sport even more... Also no funding for Surfing, Skateboarding and inactive Luge, Skeleton and Bobsleigh federations. No funding for squash and floorball as national federations are not a part of Doping testing system. Wushu removed from funding list, might something to do with countries love for China... Loads of weird non-Olympic sports prioritised over Olympic federations. Basketball loosing a lot of funding after failing to qualify for Tokyo, although further stages might increase the funding + all team sports will have additional fund distributed for team sport development (I know, funding system in Lithuania is very convoluted..) Funding per federation - Stage 1 (more funding to be approved via different sources).
