  6. I called this earlier this month. Lol you would think, where over 400+ athletes extra entered in 2015, they would increase the quota to somewhere there, but no they came up with a hastily put system. er le
  7. Straight from selection criteria: "All athletes will be ranked according to the national team points on June 3rd, 2019, as defined in the policies # 3 and # 4 of the 2018-2019 National Team Handbook. The athletes selected will be the highest ranked athletes in the National Point Ranking in every weight class.: - None of the athletes selected except +100 kg and 78 kg was the top ranked in their weight class. The Pan-American Games might conflict with important world ranking event serving as 2020 Olympic Selection. In this case, the following ranked athletes might be selected. Final decision will be taken by the HPD and the Head Coach.

  10. Judo quotas are finalized. qualified two! declined a few qutoas and will send a B/C team
  11. Some positive news about the last Pan American Games in 2015: 2015 Pan American Games Under Budget by $38 Million https://www.newswire.ca/news-releases/2015-pan-american-games-under-budget-by-38-million-814232400.html
  12. Team Canada with 46 athletes. Not a bad team, but a few bigger names missing (De Grasse, Stafford, Bishop etc.) https://olympic.ca/press/athletics-canada-selects-46-athletes-to-join-team-canada-at-the-2019-pan-american-games/
  13. Hopefully New Zealand, I think that would be the best case scenario (they tied at the 2018 CWG)
  14. Lol Own the Podium funded the women till 2016, while the men go no funding, and now four years later its the opposite, with the women looking like the better team
  15. Canada named its rowing and cycling team and both are well below the quality in 2015, sad. Athletics team of 46 named as well and a lot of big names missing as well, but some quality.
  16. https://swimswam.com/brazilian-sprinter-gabriel-santos-tests-positive-for-anabolic-steroid/ down to 34 swimmers now...
  17. The IOC really frustrates me. Limiting the amount of athletes per game to the 10,500 will not work. The last three Olympics have had 11,000+ athletes. Now we are going to end up with further cuts in established sports, with some sports already going to the extremes in qualification (those athletic standards are really hard10
  18. Final swimming quotas (not including open water). @vinipereira Entries close tomorrow, so if any changes happen, its likely a team's size is smaller. About 24 quota spots are still missing and I am not sure if they will be allocated. +2 +17 +3 +10 +5 +3 +4 +35 +16 +3 +9 +14 +3 +12 +2 +9 +3 +2 +4 +2 +2 +7 +2 +22 +4 +9 +9 +30 +7 +1 +2 +2 +6 +36 +5 +21 +3 =326
  19. It looks like we have our first official team announcement. will have 4 athletes. https://bvinews.com/four-locals-qualify-for-2019-pan-am-games/
  20. The point Im trying to make is Italy depends on "newer" events as much as Canada/USA. Italy's success isn't exclusive to "traditional events"
  21. Which is why Italy depended on half its medals for non-traditional events in 2018?
  22. Less likely. Why would they do a dual bid and leave one bid without a games? With 2 bids it makes sense.
