  3. Sam Girard, only 22, has retired. Best known for winning gold in Pyeongchang, something I had the privilege of witnessing live in the arena that day. Very sad news for Canadian speed skating

  6. @thiago_simoes Do subdivisions make a difference, as in the later the better? For the women, USA/Brazil are in the last one, Canada is in the first of three.

  9. He is. ---- Hoping for any gold tbh. It will be a pathetic performance overall vs 2015, so really wherever gold is to be found I'd gladly take it
  10. Dexter St Louis has died. He was competing just last year at the Commonwealth Games, and when I saw the list of entries for the final qualification tournament for the Pan Am Games, I did not see his name. I assumed it was because he retired, but it was much worse.
  11. They do not speak English (not that its a problem, but you would imagine they would have an English speaking rep). Any ask of information will lead them to be defensive and ask in Spanish, why do you need this information? Who are you? lol. 90% of the time they won't reply. As long as its an Olympic event, it will survive.
  12. Sure RSX men: -1 +1 Lightning: -3 Laser men: +1 49er men: -2 Laser women: and -1, and +1 Sunfish: +1
  13. I can't say any are good with providing any sort of information. Most are quite bad. ---- Final sailing quotas. got two reallocated quotas, up to 3 athletes now and all in sailing. http://panamsailing.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/STATUS-OF-COUNTRY-QUALIFICATION-2019-PAN-AM-GAMES-MAY-15-2019-REALLOCATION-OF-COUNTRY-PLACES-DECLINED-BY-NOCs-FINAL.xlsx.pdf @vinipereira
  14. COPACI (cycling) is horrible as well.
  15. Skateboarding dropped from the sports program.
  16. withdrew from the basketball competition. will replace them in the men's event (after rejected the quota) and for women, not confirmed but likely
  17. I like how they used the stereotype of Canadians saying sorry all the time lol
  18. Spoke with Swimming, they had an athlete training in Europe but he is not ready to compete in Lima unfortunately, it would have marked their Pan Am sport debut. Their pool on the island was destroyed by a hurricane and now they will fundraise to get that fixed and hopefully he will compete in the future!
  19. All it takes is one win more win to advance to next round. Good luck.
  20. Cuba is a darkhorse. It depends on which team shows up.
  21. Checking the top times in athletics, and Canada has 11! women under 53 seconds in the 400m event.
