  1. Final quotas: Women: Men: Damn Jeremy Chartier missed out by a spot. At least we got a second women's quota. First time that Canada will not compete in mens' trampoline
  2. Benefito and McKay are officially named in synchro.
  3. 19 in training camp https://www.basketball.ca/news/19-athletes-participating-in-senior-mens-national-team-camp-ahead-of-fiba-olympic-qualifying-tournament
  4. oh wow. They need an international team to compete to make any result valid.
  5. Sanchez should qualify in the 50 Gabe has won medals at the world juniors, but doesn't seem like he is taking the next step sadly.
  6. Day 2 Canadian trials Women's 200m free: Summer Mcintosh wins! (1:56.19) Penny Oleksiak ( 1:57.24) is second and was already nominated. Rebecca Smith (1:57.76) and Katerine Savard (1:57.79) were third and fourth and will be named to the relay team most likely. Men's 200m free: No one qualifies, no relay either. Peter Brothers at 1:49.07 top finisher, and might qualify through the B standard. Women's 100m breast: Kelsey Wog (1:06.77) Men's 100m breast: No A standard, top finisher: Gabe Mastromatteo 1:00.75
  7. Yea I didn't notice him either, weird. The announcers kept saying someone lost their headcap, maybe it was him
  8. Why is qualified ahead of ?
  9. Well I spoke too soon re Georgia Ellenwood This will give her a total of 1194 points, putting her into 20th in the world rankings!!
  10. Missed out by one spot damn. Unless Japan's host slot moves into top 9?
  11. The announcer: "he is closer to the b*tch" lmaoo
  12. And they replaced baseball/softball with this essentially. sad.
  13. What a ridiculous tiebreak, let them shoot!
  14. What a comeback from amazing shooting
  15. Ruck is struggling. I think the 4x100 is out of question, unless another girl steps up. Ruck just finished 12th!! in the 200m freestyle (top 10 qualify for finals), an event she has gone 1:54 before and is the 2018 Commonwealth Games champion. The only thing is she struggled at the 2016 trials, and went to have outstanding performances in the relay.
  16. Yea I think it will only be McIntosh only. Overholt will likely focus on the 400 im and 4x200
  17. Sri Lankan media are reporting that Sanjeev Silva will receive a wild card if the team does not qualify (which I find suspicious, because a decision likely won't be made till after this event). What a story he would be if he does qualify or gets a wildcard. First competed in rowing, switched to biathlon (followed by cross country skiing, as the IBU did not allow him to shoot) and now archery.
  18. Canada is in this event too but stories like these make me more interested.
  19. has appealed to Swiss Federal court in Lausanne in regards to the decision to dq the jumping team from the Olympics.
  20. Her entry time was 4:06.27 in early 2019
  21. I remember this happened right before Rio too, she struggled at the trials but still made the teams in the relays, where she had solid performances. Lets hope she can pick it up. Without here, there is 0 chance of a pushing the Americans/Australians in the 4x100. ---- In other news, Georgia Ellenwood is competing at a hep, in Germany, so far about the same results in Gotzis She needs the standard to qualify, otherwise she is out, I doubt she can squeeze in another hep. before the deadline.
  22. For me its hard to cheer for someone else from another country, mainly because I really do not know their bg story. However, anyone with personal hardship in getting to the games and medaling would be fun
  23. Day 1 Canada qualifiers (not official, but hit the A standard in the final). "Selection committee" will make the ultimate call due to Covid 19. Women's 100m butterfly: Maggie McNeil (56.19) and Katerine Savard (57.86) Men's 100m butterfly: Joshua Liendo (51.72), had 51.40 in prelims. Women's 100m backstroke: Kylie Masse (57.70, new NR) and Taylor Ruck (59.60) Men's 100m backstroke: Markus Thormeyer (53.40), Cole Pratt (53.54) Women's 400m freestyle: Surprisingly no one hit the A standard. I'd expect them to still name two people here. Men's 400m freestyle: No one with the standard.
