  1. Hosting the Olympics should bring term effects not for just a cycle or two. I guess its harder in Summer Olympics to keep the momentum
  2. Which is a good sign that Rio was good for Brazilian sports.
  3. What a mess a further 50 quota spots will need to be found in 2024....
  4. #1 seeds in women got the worst possible draw. Easily lost to Switzerland last time played and the other two teams took them too 3 sets last time played. Damn.
  5. All in the name of improved results!

  7. Fina now has the list of qualified divers on their website
  8. Fencing shouldn't be included in the count.
  9. I think they have jumped the gun. If Arley can prove it was not intended for competition, his ban will still allow him to compete.
  10. Are we counting the alternates as part of the team size for Handball, Field hockey, Rugby sevens, Soccer/Football and water polo ?
  11. Ill never trust Italian basketball after the 2006 NBA Draft, but props to them for advancing
  12. Canada's team size stands at 371 athletes atm. Rugby +2 Water polo +1 Field hockey +2 Football +4 These sports alternates will count now (waiting for final confirmation). So that is 380 athletes right there. These can add to the team: -Men's hammer throw (Athletics) - Adam Keenan is the first reserve -Laurence Vincent Lapointe is still waiting to hear if she can compete in canoeing -An appeal on the exclusion of the equestrian jumping team is still outstanding ? -There is an appeal currently regarding Jeremy Chartier's potential participation in Tokyo. Verdict now going to the courts, FIG rejected appeal. -Any B standard swimmer being invited to the games (unlikely, but still a possibility exists). so if everything is positive then we are looking at 380+ athletes

  16. Canada only has one chance in Karate, Gaysinsky in +84, afaik, he has beaten everyone in this cycle once except Gogita of :GEO, so he might have a very outside chance of winning a medal. In boxing there is 0 chance imo to win a medal. I predict all of them will win at most 1 match each.
  17. Lebanon 6 Athletics 1 Judo 1 Shooting 1 Swimming 2 Weightlifting 1 https://www.kooora.com/?n=1045420
  18. Skylar Park and Anastasija ZOLOTIC will likely meet in the f8 (if they win their first round match) in Tokyo, with the latter having won every match between them. Does not look good for a medal in taekwondo in Tokyo.
  19. 5 mins.. if tied, another 5 mins and onward
