    Doesn't this mean that the FIE are going to be actively discriminating against European athletes? Unless the ranking points are going to be taken from the other continental events then how is there a level playing field for all athletes looking to secure qualification to Paris?

    In taekwondo, the gold medal match in the men's -68Kg division is no longer appearing on the schedule - hopefully not an injury for Sinden And now it's back!

    Did we ever get to the bottom of whether the gold would win a quota spot? Seems to be some disagreement about whether this was the European qualifier or whether the team spot will be awarded at next year's European champs.

    Alexander Hart and Alberto Arevalo both fail to make it out of qualifying and it looks like Ross Haslam will top the preliminaries but If Wessemann can tidy up his back 3.5 summersault then he may be marginal favourite.

    Who knew that Team GB had resurrected their water polo teams! currently beating in their first qualifying match. Let's hope they don't throw it away like the British basketball team did when they were up against Germany.

    BBC doesn't have any available staff to cover the European Games - it is sending over 1,000 staff to cover Glastonbury instead - they'd rather be messing around in a muddy field than presenting from an empty stadium about athletes that most people in UK couldn't pick out in a line-up

    If it is a drawn round then I think they count the punches/attacks/power - at least that is what I think they do at the Global events.

    Looks like there are a few gremlins in the results - Nour actually lost the first round but came back to win the next two to progress. Nour took a pretty nasty punch to the face in the 2nd round and it looked for a while that he was really unsteady on his feet so fair play to him for managing to fight on and take the win.

    Trying to watch the athletics and europeangames.tv is redirecting me to BBC iPlayer - only problem is that the BBC has no interest in field events so wont start their coverage for another 30 minutes.

    Bit of a car crash 5th round for Seonaid McIntosh in 10m Rifle qualifying. She scored just 102.9 - the 2nd lowest score of the round. Without she was looking pretty solid to qualify to final. Just as well she secured her Olympic spot already
