That's a nice initiative. Maybe we can have a group discussion also of 4-5 people every alternate Sunday or so covering core sports, one on rest of the sports.

Top athlete like Rahmat Abdullah still train in a dilapidated gym without electricity and using rusty weights owned by his father (who is also his coach). Most of the weightlifting Olympians of this country hails from the same province and also the same club, where the club founder fed and trained those poor kids into Olympians for free.

 

If the athletes can get results in such shit conditions, imagine if Indonesian weightlifting have a better funding.

What do you have to say about today's results? Will there be any other trials or Rizki deemed injured or anything?

Yes 3 spots by normal qualifying. If 2 spots qualified by OQR, 1 host quotas can be used and vice versa. If none by OQR then only 2 host quotas. However participation in minimum events specified is essential. Host Quotas is only 2 per gender and not 3.

Host quotas are 2 each per gender not 3. France can get 2 quotas additionally categories as host. But there are just 4 French lifters eligible 2 each in gender unless I missed a lifter or two as they didn't participate in enough compulsory events.

I think that is a good decision. In case Sadulaev proved ineligible later Russia will not lose a quota in what is already a very small squad for games.

Even if he put her at the end in order he would be right. Andreaa Ana is a 3 time European Champion in 55kg, not 53kg. Can't see her qualifying for the games though.

How serious was that injury? I think if it's not serious Luo goes to Olympics almost certainly due to healthy gap between 1 and 2 as well as finishing ahead of North Korea in her weight while also breaking WR.

There could be changes in top 10 still but continental quota safe as Nigerian might not go out of top 10.

 Mathlyn Sasser Langtor gets continental quota in women's 59kg as  achieves a PB of 227kg to be ranked 6th as of now. No other African or Oceania athlete left and all other continents represented.
