  3. no way, I'm sure you are lying, there is not a single day that I don't read something in ITG.biz about someone threatening to boycott/cancel something. everybody and its dog talked about boycotting the Olympics in Poland. or in Latvia they banned people from walking the same streets as Russians. the same goes to Estonia . I'm sure they all boycotted this event, specially UK (true loyal friend of Ukraine) it wasn't just cheap talk and propaganda. propaganda only exists in non-democratic countries like ours, these are fully democratic countries where everybody is totally honest. The former Mongolian hero and current Azerbaijani hero has to beat his long time boyfriend Sagi Muki first. (if they both go that far in the draw) that was IJF's dream to have these guys meeting each other in a major event. but I assume even IJF is not that interested anymore. they realized his lies by now. kind of funny, this guy used to draw lots of attention here, somehow as an anti-regime figure. but then all of that simply disappeared after Tokyo. I'm probably the only one who still remembers him.

  8. I don't follow Judo anymore, so what other countries joined Ukraine in its boycott ? I mean beside UK which is an obvious answer. you always can count on their loyalty. they would never betray Ukraine. in past few months I heard/read a million posts/comments/news about a handful of countries threatening to boycott the Olympics if Russian athletes participate (neutrals or not) you would expect them to boycott a simple non-direct Olympic qualifier for the start. btw I wish the best of luck for Ukrainian people and specially Ukrainian athletes. I hope nobody forces them to withdraw if they want to participate.

  17. Women’s cycling often a bit lacking in drama, but two great stages to round off the Vuelta yesterday & today. Even down to the bit where riders emerge suddenly from the clouds at the top of mounrains to save or lose their jerseys! Not quite oxygen tanks, but pretty near.

  18. While catching up before the event, i saw a funny parallel, at least to me. The very clean, by the books, loved by fans and the IOC sport of judo and the IJF have managed to gather a prize fund of barely over 1 millions dollars for the World Championships. While the very bad, scandalous, hated by everyone sport of boxing and the IBA managed to gather a prize fund of 7.6 million dollars for their World Championships. Not judging anything, just found it an interesting comparison.

This isn’t confirmed or anything, just a speculation, but I’m pretty sure Pavan/Bukovec have split. First clue I got, was when Sophie and Sarah withdrew from all upcoming Elite16’s they were registered in. But now I think it’s pretty much confirmed, with Sophie winning the Canadian Beach Volleyball Trials with Shanice Marcelle, therefore booking themselves a ticket to the NORCECA World Championship Trials in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Sarah, on the other hand, is next scheduled to compete at the upcoming Juumala Challenge with Molly McBain.

  30. I enjoyed following the race as well. It’s interesting to see the tactical differences in men’s and women’s cycling at the moment. I did like the running theme of cyclists at least trying to make things interesting for the favorites with random attacks and advantageous moves. Vollering looks pretty damn strong at the moment.

  39. USA ended the freestyle competition with 9 gold medals. at least that Cuban 86kg saved the day for the whole continent (or I should say David Taylor did this by not participating and giving his spot to someone much weaker) Cuba is seriously getting weaker in this sport, yes they still can pull out a "Orta" to win the Olympic gold out of nowhere but they are not as good as before. 2 or 3 of their wrestlers were extremely weak here (I mean their new blood), you wouldn't expect Cuba to send weak wrestlers. (they are either good or absent) still Cuba is Cuba, you never can underestimate their wrestlers. you never know when the next "Orta" will show up. you have to be ready when you face a Cuban guy.

  40. USA will not collect all 10 freestyle gold medals, their 86kg guy was terrible and lost badly to Cuba. I expect them to win the other 7 gold medals (2 are already in the bag from yesterday) Destribats was very close to another famous win against an American wrestler. Diakomihalis simply survived by a late pushout.

  41. The worst event I saw today was Kun Kru in Kun Khmer. Athletes act like they got spirits on their body no martial art as such and as expected the host won both golds. It has to be the most rubbish event at any multi sport game in the 21st century.

  46. Tried to watch some matches but the level in Greco was low as expected and two HON wrestlers withdrawing from both 97kg and 130kg finals made it even worse, not a fan of cowards I think there are only 2 (maybe 3) worthy Greco wrestlers in the whole competition, two Cubans and that Cuban big guy wrestling for Chile. freestyle will be a bit better, but it will be very one sided in favor of USA. still it's good to see likes Burroughs, Dake, Snyder and Gilman in action. even though it will be walk in the park for them. just some easy ranking points to improve their rank for the 2023 World Championship seeding.
