Werloc 3,127 Posted June 27, 2018 Author #2 Share Posted June 27, 2018 Lithuania announced their finalised team earlier today and it consists of 27 athletes, a steady improvement over 19 athletes back in 2016. With Lithuania bidding to host the European U20 and U23 in 2021, the level of the sport in our country is steadily increasing in all youth and junior categories, followed with a lot of broken records. MEN'S TEAM Edgaras Radzevičius (2001), 100m. - 11.00 / 200m. - 22.09 Dovidas Petkevičius (2001), 110m. Hurdles - 14.23 / High Jump - 2.01 Dominykas Smetonis (2001), 400m. Hurdles - 55.56 Augustas Bukauskas (2001), High Jump - 2.04 Paulius Ivaškevičius (2001), Triple Jump - 14.31 Vilius Junevičius (2001), Triple Jump - 14.29 Dominykas Čepys (2001), Shot Put - 18.38 Karolis Gelažius (2002), Shot Put - 17.48 Matas Makaravičius (2002), Discus Throw - 54.25 Justas Čėsna (2002), Javelin Throw - 62.40 Vildijus Petkus (2001), Javelin Throw - 62.08 WOMEN'S TEAM Austėja Barbšytė (2001), 100m. - 12.22 Lukrecija Sabaitytė (2002), 200m. - 25.11 Roberta Žikaitė (2001), 200m. - 25.14 / 400m. - 56.97 Augustė Žikaitė (2001), 800m. - 2:12.27 Dominyka Petraškaitė (2001), 800m. - 2:13.76 Ugnė Žvinklytė (2001), 1500m. - 4:35.65 Greta Karinauskaitė (2001), 1500m. - 4:37.73 Meda Repšytė (2002), 2000m. Steeplechase - 6:59.36 Amelita Taujanskaitė (2002), High Jump - 1.75 Luka Garšvaitė (2001), Long Jump - 6.00 Deimantė Raudytė (2002), Triple Jump - 12.15 Akvilė Medvedevaitė (2001), Triple Jump - 12.00 Ieva Florijona Česnaitė (2001), Shot Put - 14.26 Sonata Rudytė (2001), Discus Throw - 42.86 Olivija Vaitaitytė (2002), Heptathlon - 4966 Adrija Meškauskaitė (2001), 5km. Race Walk - 24:48.00 As always, we seem to qualify more women than men in Athletics events, interesting thing is that we rarely have qualifications in men's triple jump, mid distance running events, steeplechase races and we have 5 people qualified in that. We nearly had our first historical pole vault qualification too, but I guess that was not meant to happen Anyways, we're expecting good things from Bukauskas, Čepys, Repšytė, Garšvaitė and the other athletes have their chance to surprise everyone. heywoodu
Werloc 3,127 Posted July 4, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted July 4, 2018 It's a bit awkward when it feels like I'm the only person genuinely extremely hyped for this event even when we don't have medal hopes
dcro 10,182 Posted July 4, 2018 #4 Share Posted July 4, 2018 @hckosice is hyped. But apparently in all the wrong places. Werloc and heywoodu 1 1 #banbestmen

Werloc 3,127 Posted July 4, 2018 Author #6 Share Posted July 4, 2018 I admit, I have an extreme soft spot for athletics and I have a problem I have a lot of excel files following the qualifications of every year and I update them after every single minor event daily My friend that works in Athletics is annoyed with my extreme passion for U20 and U18 athletics
prso1000 540 Posted July 4, 2018 #7 Share Posted July 4, 2018 (edited) Does anyone has the overview how many athletes qualify per event for the YOG i saw it somewhere once, but cannot find it again. Although I don’t believe Croatia has a chance. Our team is large but no real medal or even final contender. Our best chance for final is probably Klara Andrijasevic 1500/3000m. Very similar to last time around, when our only qualifier came from girls' hammer throw (mainly thanks to Europe being awarded with massive 11 spots). #banbestmen
