  1. According to Sebastian Krystek, editor-in-chief of Biathlon.pl, working also for Polish Biathlon Federation - for the first time in history with NO POINTS in a Women's World Cup event.

  2. What a shame, we nearly had a historical competition for Lithuania, where all three athletes would have made the pursuit. Unfortunately, Kaukėnas will fall down to 61st But, it is great that this is the second sprint and it is points again for Lithuania with Vytautas Strolia finishing 31st, exactly where Tomas finished in Ostersund. Karol Dombrovski really dug deep to finish 53rd with two mistakes even. This is the man that struggled to get into top 60 when he shot 0+0. A very honourable mention also goes to Natalija Kočergina for the 43rd in the women's sprint. THAT IS THREE WHOLE LITHUANIANS IN THE PURSUITS FOR THE WEEKEND

  3. Obviously it'll be ignored by Russian authorities, because blindly crying "it's all just politics!!" is so much easier, but Mariya Lasitskene has some questions to the authorities who screwed her and other athletes big time, again and again. https://www.themoscowtimes.com/2019/12/10/i-am-a-russian-world-champion-and-i-demand-answers-a68545

  5. Da fuq? You really need to check your meds old man . This gave me a genuine hard laugh though, so thank you very much for sharing. Out curiosity, how did @brunamoura and @heywoodu do in the single mixed relay for Brazil?

  6. So I had the weirdest dream. Apparently Olympic short track competition turned into a total carnage. It ended up with Moldova taking surprise gold, Lesotho silver and Monaco bronze. Additionally, we all cheered for @Olympian1010 who took a bronze medal as part of American nordic combined relay.

  9. Finally a good result for Bescond! And great race for Colombo, too bad for that one miss at the end but still, her best result iirc? Good comeback for Paulina Fialkova

  12. So, as I'll probably lose because of my usual bad luck that seems to have shown up again today (and it's not only because of Friday the 13th) I can show my team, then you can try to guess, who will I transfer out and then you can choose that athlete to your team - he or she will surely get many points in the following race after being out of my team.

  13. 2 years ago we lost to in quarterfinals by 2 goals only as well. However this is probably the weakest floorball team in history, keep in mind they already lost to in the Group stage, which resulted in the fact FIN has to face already in the semifinals, so after some gazillion of years this time we will not have the usual SWE-FIN final but yes, good and satisfying perf from our girls, the goal was 5th place and we are still in the fight for it, just pitty the difference is too big between the likes of and and the rest of the world fighting for the maximum they can achieve - the 5th place

  16. It seems like a fair point. Let me rephrase what I wrote before. If any manager want to have his or her team visible for all users, you are welcome to do so. For those managers who want to keep their team hidden, you can of course continue to do that.

  20. Yeah, very happy for Charvatova ! It's nice to see her at the flowers ceremony. Only one miss ! I did not believe my eyes when I saw her shoot.

  21. Machyniakova 97.50 points @hckosice I’m so happy for Charvatova too. Everyone in CZ always gives her crap for messing up our relays.

  23. Lois Abbingh's role has been huge, she spent hours with the coach taking the Russian team (which she knows very well) apart Having the Russian coach as her club coach and being in the same club as 8 of the Russian players helped a lot

  24. Plus one can assume youth skiers who would potentially be eligible have some interest in their own sport...and thus would know of the existence of this event, and make sure the federation at least is aware of it's existence. Indeed, blaming IOC/FIS really makes no sense at all.

  25. Sweden was 6th at the ECh, we were 7th. We needed Sweden to get a WCh OQT spot, because otherwise they would have taken the 2nd European OQT spot instead of us (Romania already got the first one with their ECh 4th place).

  26. Yes, in fact some kind of sign language is used by every team - to show which stone you should hit, where your stone should stop, with how big force you should throw... However, they need to use it also while sweeping, which is a little bit harder, because that's where most teams are shouting and the sweepers are looking at the stone, so that they don't touch it with the broom. They somehow manage to concentrate on both - the stone and the skip, who is showing with his hand whether to sweep or not. And while discussing the things on the ice they use a sign language too - that's as good for them as their non-deaf rivals don't understand a lot While it's good for us to speak as they don't hear what we are talking about But more a less we know each other's ideas because showing with the broom is natural for both - mute and non-mute curlers.

  27. Corbyn has been an absolute fraud. Sitting on the Brexit fence just blew up in his face big time. If Boris frickin Johnson leads Tory to their biggest win in 30 years and Labour has its worse result since 1935 (like reported by the BBC) then Corbyn should be shot to the moon first thing in the morning

  33. For anyone interested, here's what my prediction model suggests on medal chances for each event in athletics. I may have to change to a hybrid model for long distance (5000m, 10000m, walks and marathon) events as quite often the pace/strategy is different in each race. The low number of competitions for some athletes caused a couple of weird results so hopefully they continue to compete in 2020. Below are the athletes with a greater than 50% chance at winning the gold medal in an event. Caster Semenya - Women's 800m - 99.21% Katarina Johnson-Thompson - Women's Heptathlon - 81.91% Daniel Stahl - Men's Discus Throw - 79.45% Kenenisa Bekele - Men's Marathon - 74.30% Yulimar Rojas - Women's Triple Jump - 69.93% Shaunae Miller-Uibo - Women's 400m - 69.11% United States - Men's 4x400m Relay - 64.21% Pawel Fajdek - Men's Hammer Throw - 62.18% United States - Women's 4x400m Relay - 57.65% Will Claye - Men's Triple Jump - 55.80% Malaika Mohambo - Women's Long Jump - 55.50% Brigid Kosgei - Women's Marathon - 52.18% Shaunae Miller-Uibo - Women's 200m - 51.51% Karsten Warholm - Men's 400m Hurdles - 50.75%
