Very embarrassing for the  to miss any basketball event at the Games, especially considering that they won the World Cup in 2019. Come on , you can qualify, and I am totally not rooting for you to make our job easier in Debrecen. Not at all.

Because those players would not:

a) be eligible, since they have no points in 3x3 ranking;

b) care about this tournament or the Olympics.

No, to prevent 5x5 players from just showing up and overrunning the regular competitors, FIBA made a rule stating athletes must compete in a minimum number of events.
