Germany was close in 2018, only losing against Russia in last minute. I also believe that USA has the potential to win hockey gold on the women's side.

Haha lol.. Lets see if USA can qualify first for Summer Olympics this time. Even if they do there is a 100% chance they won't win any medal soon.

I didn't say that they have a shot at winning gold in 2020, but they have been world-class in the past and i believe that they could get there again. No other country has a better shot at winning gold in field hockey and ice hockey. I see no way that Canada, Sweden, Czech Republic or Russia (maybe they have a tiny chance on the women's side some day) will win gold in field hockey in our lifetime. I think we can also agree that Argentina, the Netherlands, Australia, Spain, Pakistan, India, Zimbabwe or New Zealand won't win ice hockey gold anytime soon ...

I would say USA has the best chance ahead of Germany and Russia/Canada. Germany might have a shot to win hockey gold in 2022 if all the big nations compete without their NHL players and if for some reason Draisaitl, Grubauer, Kahun and Seider will play for Germany.

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

    • Johaug was looking very good in Beitostoelen yesterday, to say the least.   https://www.fis-ski.com/DB/general/results.html?sectorcode=CC&raceid=46969
    • The only reasons Johaug won't compete are either injury or mis-treating her sunburnt lips again.

    • i think she will, she will come back like Vonn, Hirscher etc.

    • Hallberg MAGIC!  Amazing on the last flat sector!
    • Johaug will not be competing in Milano-Cortina.
    • Noel- 1st place today after 1 run, Amiez- 3rd place... Vinatzer is a talent similar to Noel, so I ask where are his results, where are the other skiers in the lead of classification? Did they really think they would ride on one Gross and Razzoli until 2026?
    • The problem of the Italian federation is that her system doesn`t work and we can`t afford to lose talents like Colturi. Our slalom does not exist, whether among women or men. We are currently at a level under that Croatia in women and Bulgaria in the men's category. There is no progress, in fact there is regression, because while Vinatzer often didn`t finish runs a few years ago, when he did finish he was able to be in the top. Now he either doesn`t finish or is around 20th place, like now. In the women's category the peak of our abilities is Peterlini, who regularly placed around 20th place in the World Cup... If we can`t afford to invest more than Albania and that with the Winter Olympics in a year at home, so I think we can really dissolve our ski sector and focus on something else... If the federation is satisfied with such low levels, let them continue   Btw. maybe it's better investing in private teams like Colturi, if it works? I'd like have 1-2 Colturi in private teams, who will stand on the podiums of the World Cup, than a national team consisting of 5-6 average skiers, who can take 20th place at most, if they finish the race at all...
