nitinsanker 202 Posted September 3, 2018 #51 Share Posted September 3, 2018 (edited) what a world championship it has been for India Till now ............. I am so impressed !!!!!..... India seems like it is entering the world A category of nations like CHN, USA, ITA etc ...... It is not just the quota places but the sheer depth of talent .............This team is so young and so bloody talented ........ I am not suprised that they are doing something wonderful .... this is the best performance by any Indian team in any world championship that I have seen forever till now ... can we KEEP IT UP and win something 10-20 medals which seems a very reasonable estimate based on the start Gold Silver Bronze Total 12 12 12 36 1CHN 2 3 1 6 1IND 2 3 1 6 3KOR 2 2 2 6 4RUS 2 1 2 5 5ITA 2 1 3 6KUW 1 1 2 7ESP 1 1 8CRO 1 1 2 8USA 1 1 2 10SVK 1 1 11GER 1 1 11UKR 1 1 Edited September 3, 2018 by nitinsanker strength does not come from physical capacity but from an indomitable will. - Gandhi

phelps 7,674 Posted September 4, 2018 #53 Share Posted September 4, 2018 (edited) great win for Anna Korakaki (GRE) in the women's Air Pistol... Korea once again with 2 girls in the final, but this time they won "only" the bronze medal (and the subsequent Olympic spot)... however, after a poor world cup season, as expected, they're on fire at the home soil world champs... and many people still say that there's no home factor in shooting... Asian soil is always stimulating for their athletes. In every sport possible. I remember Beijing 2008. China was winning medals in sports they were weak in before. Also,WR in athletics during 1993 season. Being host is important factor for success in general but nowhere like in Asia. phelps 7,674 Posted September 5, 2018 #58 Share Posted September 5, 2018 wow! very surprising win for Italy in the Junior Mixed Air Rifle competition! that really came out of nowhere... good...once every while we can get an unexpected success, too... meanwhile I really don't understand why Petra Zublasing didn't start in the women's Prone Rifle...I know that's just a training for the 3-position Rifle event (the only one that really matters, right now), but once she took part in the elimination round (and scored the 3rd most points), why give up the actual competition (and probably a world medal, too)??? dcro 10,210 Posted September 5, 2018 #59 Share Posted September 5, 2018 Petar Gorša went from being 2nd in eliminations in men's prone, to being 2nd last in the actual competition. But he did pick up that air rifle medal, so can't complain. #banbestmen
