Anjum is a double starter in 3Pos and she can only compete if she has the MQS. Probably the extra quota from Chinky could go to 3Pos. However, the state of rankings in 3Pos is similar to the Trap Women. Noone in top 30; let's close the chapter for the extra quota. We will not get a medal from it.

More to come in early tournaments 2020, watch out for Aishwarya Tomar(Men's 3P), Vijayveer(25m) and btw Tejaswini scored 1171 in Asian championship(3P) that score should take her to the finals in Olympics,  let's wait and watch.

But quota exchange is only in the same sex. The options are 50m 3Pos and Shotgun (Skeet and Trap). We have seriously goofed up in these disciplines. More so in Shotgun.

Aishwarya & Tejaswini have got quota no exchange required, if Vijayveer really does well and I understand Anish might get the quota, depending on form Anish/Vijayveer can go.

If Anish gets quota by ranking Vijayveer cannot go.

Ok, which means Anish needs to do well his recent form has been really bad, hopefully he improves.

We cannot get reallocation quotas. From the qualification document:

Quote

If an allocated quota place is returned or is not accepted or confirmed by the NOC or if there is an unused World Ranking Quota Places (because there is no eligible athlete), that quota place will be reallocated to an NOC that does not have any quota place or Tripartite Invitation Place for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.

Anish can win the World Ranking quota. That quota is not allocated to NRAI but to Anish. So, no swap or changing the athlete.

Apart from Anish, as I have said multiple times, there is a very very small chance for Kynan to get a WR quota. No one else has any chance to win any more quotas.

Regarding swaps, we can swap maximum 1 quota and that swap has to be in the same gender. Practically speaking, we have extra quota in Pistol women with Manu starting in both events. So, it is logical to swap Chinki's quota. Now that swap could either be for 50x3 or Shotgun. (We have full quotas in the rest). Decision regarding swap depends on selection of 10m Air Rifle. If Anjum qualifies ahead in 10m, then she will easily start in 50x3 as well, so only logical swap is in Shotgun. But if Elavenil pips Anjum, we can swap Chinki's quota for Anjum in 50x3.

Regarding team selection:

Anyone interested can read the selection policy of NRAI here. Basically, instead of having one single selection trial, selection would be based on the average of the scores across various competitions and selection trials, with bonus points for Medals/Finals, World Records and Higher Rankings. Quota winners also get bonus points.

At present it is very close between Anjum, Apurvi and Elavenil. Mehuli is losing out because she can't get any bonus points as she has been shooting in MQS category.

Good analysis...... Also the highest ranked players in order will be in mixed pairs..... So no leeway...... Likely pairing divyansh-apurvi,  x- deepak.......  And saurabh-manu and yeshashwini-abhishekh....... The x would be either anjum Or velarivan..... That may go down to the last world Cup......

    • Despite total domination by the Norwegian men (and yes, it's exhausting and boring), the accomplishments this weekend of Emil Iversen and Einar Hedegart are worth highlighting, despite them being Norwegian.    Iversen was dropped by the Norwegian national team after the opener in Beitostølen 2 weeks ago and was not taken to Ruka. Instead, he won both the 10k and 20k Interval Classic starts in Gålå in the Norwegian Cup last week, which granted him a spot on the start line in Trondheim. He took full advantage of that opportunity and finished on the podium in the skiathlon, and finished just off the podium in today's 10k Interval Freestyle. This definitely puts his name in serious contention for a spot on the Olympic team, which looked incredibly doubtful just a few days ago.    Einar Hedegart, the 24-year-old biathlete who decided to challenge the stereotype that biathletes are inferior skiers to their cross-country counterparts, just won the 10k Interval Start against all of Norway's best in a de facto Olympic trial.    Yes, it's exhausting seeing nothing but Norwegian flags on the men's side, but there can be excitement just beneath the surface at times.
