yay Volko did it again.

 

but what a bronze finish despite literally sleeping at the start

 

3rd career medal in 3rd consecutive EICh. completed medal colection 1-1-1.

Very proud of Polak for finishing fifth. This was by far her best result ever in a big competition. 

 

She has improved a lot every year, and just a few weeks ago she achieved the qualifying standard for Tokyo (she also did it in the summer but it didn't count then).

 

Unfortunately this was the first major competition since the 2014 World Indoors that we didn't win a medal in women's pole vault, and first since the 2013 World Championships that we didn't win a medal in either men's or women's pole vault. It is a shame that Kyriakopoulou is injured because this could've been a great chance for her to finally win gold after one silver and three bronze in the past.

 

I hope Papachristou does well tomorrow. I expect her to win a medal, hopefully gold but we'll see...

Three men from 4x400 relay have tested positive. I have no idea who's gonna start in the final since Dobek runs in the 800m final and Czykier has the 110h hurdles SF and probably a final.
