I think the winners gonna be:

Female - Rebeca

Male - Alison dos Santos

I think Rayssa has a good chance as best female athlete, but I hope Rebeca wins. Alison is the most deserving male athlete by far...

Patrícia Tománková, considered as our future sport main star, finished in 3rd place in the EOC Piotr Nurowski annual summer sports award for the best European youth athlete of the year in Summer sports.

For the first time 2 athletes shared the trophy. :GER Rhythmic Gymnast Daria Varfolomeieva and :TUR Kuzey Tuncelli. Tománková ended just short of votes behind them on 3rd place.

Another huge result for our sport, Patrícia was the youngest among the candidates, this year she won golds basically every competition she attended from the European Youth Championships to the EYOF. In Maribor she spend on tatamis during the whole competition 1 and half minute to win first ever gold for Slovakia from a combat sport in a Olympic sponsored event.

Funny enough, while our sport is almost piss poor dead, we somehow managed to win already 3 top 3 places in this award competition in the last 2 years.

With Juraj Slafkovský finishing 2nd in Winter Sports edition last year and Nela Lopušanová (both Ice Hockey) even winning the prize earlier this year in the Winter Sports version as well.

    • Ukrainian diver Lyskun switches allegiance to Russia, loses all medals | Olympics News | Al Jazeera   'loses all medals'   I would assume Al Jazeera could have been a bit clearer and mention this would presumably only be national medals. I mean, it's not like the Ukrainian federation, or any single federation for that matter, has the power to strip her of her world and European championships medals I hope (not for her sake, but because that would be a super weird precedent)
