Through so far hardly any of the EU watchers talking about how Orban being gone means Fico is isolated and the EU is now stronger on supporting Ukraine have realised Bulgaria will replace it as a pro Russia stooge.

Does Fico have a good relationship with Radev? And then there's Babis... This will always change in different countries, for example, in Austria the pro-Russian FPO is now clearly leading on the polls... Orban's defeat is more symbolic – he ruled for 16 years and he was a symbol for politicians of this type- even Trump modeled himself on him in a certain sense. In Bulgaria and Slovakia the political situation is much less stable and another government could soon will be.

Don't mind the doomsdayer, he is just looking for new sensations to cling on.

As i said, Radev is not at all certain of making a coalition and even if he somehow does it will be tight rope. He is not that stupid to go full Orban on foreign policy, as even though there are many Russian fans, there are much more pro-EU people, so he wouldn't want to start a riot right away.

In :CAN, Mark Carney’s Liberal Party just secured a working majority through a combination of floor crossings and by-elections. Baring something unexpected the Liberals now do not have to face an election until October 2029.

The Liberals currently have 173 seats, and could win a 174th tonight. A majority is 171, but due to one of those seats being the Speaker a working majority is 172 seats.

Edit: the Liberals also won the by-election in Terrebonne (the general election result was vacated by the Supreme Court due to issues in the mail votes, the Liberal candidate who won the by-election had won by a single vote). First majority government in Canada since 2019.

Wonder if they'll get a couple more floor crossers to strengthen their majority.

Duno. To me the most interesting question is the short term is whether Poilievre survives this or not. It will be tough for him to justify his leadership.
