Doping Cases and Bans 2018 Thread

Recommended Posts

Just to be clear: CAS didn't say anyone was innocent, only that in some of the cases (definitely not all) the existing evidence was not exactly strong enough to prove the guilt of the specific athletes, not that there was no doping system. There having been a huge doping system is not being doubted in any way (apart from the "oh my gosh it's all a conspiracy" people of course).

This is the main problem. IOC had to prove everything and ban all Russian Olympic sports for 2 years. But they hurried, and now they themselves have received from CAS. Should be guided by the European judicial system. If it proves they are guilty, disqualification. If you have not proved it, then apologize. And Bach looked like a coward.

It looks like a Swiss court has rejected some Russian appeals, including those of speed skaters Yuskov and Kulizhnikov and EPO-biathletes Starykh and Loginov.

Meanwhile RT says 15 athletes (of those 28 who won at CAS earlier when there was not enough evidence to specifically prove their guilt) may still be invited by the IOC.

Soooo... is it now possible for the IOC to life ban anyone caught in doping offence (regardless of nationality) ? If so, it would mean a quasi life ban for athletes in most olympic sports.

Yes, dont forget this everywhere and always specify. If there is no evidence of guilt, then they are INCONVENT. It's all
