Also, Why was the Biathlon Single Mixed Relay not included. It has been successfully held already, a high rate of participation, and would not require an increase in quotas.

FIS says that either Alpine Combined or Parallel Slalom will be included. Decision will be made by November.

Ugh, we all know what that's gonna be.

Because the single mixed relay in biathlon is the absolute perfect event for show events and demonstrations (like Biathlon auf Schalke in Gelsenkirchen).

That will increase though, as nations see an opportunity to medal

Any event will see participation grow if they were included in the olympics. Doesn't make it right

Exactly. Events should not be put in the Olympics to make them grow, events should be interesting enough to grow before they're being put in the Olympics.

Why add an event that makes the most sense? IOC Logic..

I meant it's a good thing they didn't add the single mixed relay, because in my opinion that is 100% perfect for show events, but rather mediocre to have in a serious competition.

Besides, how many opportunities the same set of people should have to rack up medals doing basically the exact same thing. ?

That is if the best athletes even will compete in all events. I can imagine a situation where you've got a mixed relay and a single mixed relay both with around 50% of the best athletes. That's not great.
