If Chile beats Thailand they will play England in R16.

Italy vs China is fixed now.

Germany only plays Nigeria if Thailand beats Chile or there is a draw. Otherwise it's Germany vs Brazil. Chile actually needs to win by 3+ goals.

You are right

I agree with 4 quotas because frankly 3 to 4 American teams it makes me laugh yellow

What are you talking about? I agree Europe should have more spots, but 3 for America is fair when we consider USA, Canada and Brazil are among the best.

Technically this wasn't the best match (CMR vs NZL), but maybe it was the most exciting? The third-ranked thing might not be ideal, but at least makes for thrilling matches that otherwise would be just "friendlies".

What they should do, but probably never will, is giving each continent one quota place and have decide the others in World wide qualifiers, like they do in Handball, Volleyball, Hockey etc.

Oh, and "Go, Thailand".

The main problem is the south america-africa play-off. It should be a world qualification tournament with an european, asian and north american team as well.

It's likely that we will see France needing to beat USA to qualify, which is extremely tough but also very arbitrary.

Yes, but with the continental qualifiers first and then the world qualifiers, not like they do in volleyball for example.

    • Weightlifting formula is more or less similar to 2020 which was considered terrible by everybody!    this is a tough sport, you can't be in your best shape for too many events. there will be risks of serious injuries this way. with these rules you need 5 good results to qualify. if you bomb out in an event to score a zero you are out of the Olympics unless you replace it with another event. which means most of these poor guys have to participate in 7-8 events (and not just 5) to make up for possible bomb outs.    most importantly if you get injured anytime during this period (almost 2 years) you are out of the Olympics! that's how Sohrab Moradi missed the Tokyo Olympics despite breaking the WR during the qualification period. you can miss the Olympics in 2028 if you get injured late 2026 !  Karlos Nasar couldn't win the Olympic title if we had these rules in 2024   I understand 2024 qualification formula wasn't great either, it had its own flaws but this one is much worse for threatening athletes' health.
