Based on the standings after the World Cup in Calgary, these teams would qualify for the team pursuit, if my calculations and understanding of the qualification criteria are correct.

I'm not clever enough to work out the system.

The system is quite simple for the mass start: the top 24 athletes in the world cup standings earn a quota, with a maximum of 2 per country.

After this World Cup in Calgary, Gemma Cooper will be in 24th place, no matter what the outcome will be in the final tonight, as Gemma has 8 points and all 16 finalists will get at least 10 points, even if they will be disqualified tonight.

 

With one more World Cup to go, next weekend in Salt Lake City, it will be exciting to see if Gemma can make it.

So... Hi, I undestand NOTHING about Speed skating.

 

Spain has an athlete, Iñigo Vidondo, compiting internationally. Does he has any chances of qualifiying to the olympics?

Apparently she sprinted like a crazy woman for that knowing that 4th place guarantees Olympic qualification.

Mostly she just attacked early on and nobody seemed to care until she was only 100 meters or so behind them

Oh yeah that's right, European championships (single distance), the most useless addition to the calendar, especially without the 5 and 10k  

 

Oh well, let's see, at least there are quite some decent athletes turning up

Brianne Tutt and Kali Christ hit the standart (they need to have it over the last calendar year, not during trials).

 

But yes, the speed skating Canada time standards are insane.

12:43.04 for Ted-Jan Bloemen in Calgary yesterday, the 4th fastest 10k ever. Now it's time to see how he'll turn up in Pyeongchang, since nearly all of his fantastic races have been at altitude, whereas especially Kramer has shown to have that kind of level at low altitude (like the Olympic oval in Korea).
