Well, world championship is not Nations League/World League.  Whenever someone is favorite by performance in these tournaments goes badly afterwards in a great championship. Let's see if France will recover.

wow. I thought yesterday result was just an accident (since i didn't watch the match) but this Netherlands team plays amazing. that was a well deserved win and actually they deserved more than 2 points from this match !! now France is in big trouble with 2 defeats and still have to play Canada.

 

at this point I don't know which team from Group B I prefer to play against ! they are all very good

Yes, with Captain douchebag Heynen as coach you never know, but I don't think the option by being 2nd in the group is that much better: it would be USA, Bulgaria again and the 4th of group B which could also be France or Brazil. Bulgaria-Poland will be played at the same time as Canada-France, so it will be difficult for these teams to calculate while they are playing.

Well, I was wrong yesterday. I truly never believed that Netherlands could win against France. I feel sorry for Egypt, they play nice volleybal and would have chances to go through when they wouldn't have played in this insane group B. 

 

In the Netherlands they say that only the results against Brazil, France and Canada will count in the second round. When they finish second in the second round, then all results will count to determine the best numbers two.

What's wrong with X groups and the best Y teams per group go to the knock out stage?

Everything is complicated with FIVB all the time.. They just don't know better.
