Congratulations at :champion:Barcelona Women :ESP   for their first Women Champions League.

This is the first WCL won by Spain teams, and also the first non-French or non-Germany win since 2006/07 (Arsenal; the competition was known as UEFA Women's Cup)

Next year the WCL will have a new format with a group stage (home/away) for the best 16 teams.

Barcelona trashed Chelsea 4-0 in that final. Guess English clubs can buy all the best players but talk about getting exposed here. Reminds me of that Swedish super team Tyreso that folded within months of losing in UCL final too

Big shoutout to all UEFA members (beside Israel), who will get the football season successfully finished in the next week. All leagues and cups will be done in record time, because of the late start in 2020 and just as planned before the EURO. Now this is how you get the job done! Awaiting the final exciting matches that are left. :)

So the FIFA Congress has just approved to start looking at the possibility of having FIFA World Cup every 2 years. Far from making it happen, but a first, mad step!

i thinks it is a stupid proposal. World cup will lose its prestige if it is held every two years

More likely UEFA Euros will lose prestige. Obviously FIFA is looking at money and money alone. More matches means more money for the big wigs.

Euros could be rendered for B-teams calliber or U-23 like at the Olympics. This is far from being made official. Unlike athletics there are two governing bodies involved and UEFA will definitely see this idea as a major threat.

UEFA has nothing to say there. Wouldn't be the first time UEFA is beaten in a FIFA context.

    • Shades of 1998 with  and  in the same group but this time it's really a terrible draw for the Thistles. I recall Brazil and Scotland played in the same group in 1974 and 1990 too so that's quite a high probabiliy rate.

    • I think I can live with the draw , not a bad group at all. just a week ago our mafia coach said his dream group is Belgium, Egypt and Haiti, he almost got that !   but it's really hard for me (and so many others) to cheer for this team, A mafia boss coach, disgusting group of players. I never had this feeling about any NT in any sport before but still the national team is the national team. you have to like it  coaches and players come and go, the team is what matters.   if the team makes it to the competition, I'm sure there will be lots of Iranians in the stadium despite the orange's ban, that will never be a problem.
    • Belgium is the luckiest in this story
    • One of the worst possible draw for us. Group really easy but having to face  or  in the Round of 32 is devastating.
