Men's Road Cycling UCI World Tour 2020 (Tour de France)

Sagan throwing away a relatively easy 2nd place by starting the sprint too early. At least he catches up a bit towards Bennett, although he'll probably need Bennett to keep having his medical problems - otherwise the Irishman's speed is just too much. Not exactly in the way one would hope, but at least there is some tension for the green jersey in the shadow of the GC fight :d

huge disappointment. again...

now it is I fear definitelly over

There are four incredibly hard mountain stages coming up, Bennett not making the time limit due to being sick at the for him worst possible moment is still a serious possibility...but yeah, if he always finishes within the time limit, the green is for Bennett.

So Mitchelton-Scott was still there with five guys including sprinter Mezgec, and all they did was letting Jack Bauer hit the front for a bit with 1.5km to go

I mean, it's the most sensible option when both Sagan and Trentin are still in the group, but come on.

Roglič is not really a product of Slovenian cycling, though.  All his adolescence he was part of the Ski Jumping team, was not encouraged to cycle. After he lost his SJ World Cup place he rode as an amateur for a small team in Slovenia, then transferred into the Dutch pro scene, where he learnt his trade.  It’s not like there is a kind of DDR-style talent programme going on.

You obviously never heard of Milan Erzen ...

Also the UCI president seems to think a bit differently ...

Honestly, hope Andre Greipel is good at carrying bottles or something, because it’s hard to see wjat else he’s doing to earn a place hear.

German commentators said that he has a role as a mentor, also he had a crash earlier this year, so he clearly isn’t at his best.

Buchmann going at a murderous pace here. what a exemplary teammate this guy is. One month back I´ve never believed he is able to immediately forget his own disappointment and sacrify himself for someone else, but he is showing at this tour that he really is a true Teammate ! Respect !

Sadly all for nothing. This is the second stage where Bora went all out for Sagan and for the second time Sagan wasted his chance. I think this might be his last chance to win green and it’s not looking good.

Maybe he was modeling what not to do for the younger riders :p
