FINAL POWER RANKING

Final Edition

In our final Power Rankings of 2021, Canada rules the roost after fighting all the way back to win the gold medal after its toughest start in tournament history. The Finns finish second after settling for their ninth silver medal of all time. The bronze medal-winning Americans are third.

The Power Rankings are for the enjoyment of IIHF.com readers, and reflect the progress of teams during the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship. They are distinct from the official standings and IIHF World Ranking.

We must name Tampere as Bratislava , Only way to win Gold medals

Regarding the OT in Men's Worlds finals, 4v4 or 5v5 continuous OT is a must. That 3v3 format is horrible, because apparently you have to almost beat the crap out of someone to get penalties lol

Hello!

Where can I re-watch the final? I can't find it on torrent or video sharing sites

you have to search for it on the website of the TV Network that broadcasted the game live (no idea who had those rights in HUN)...

Try here https://www.youtube.com/c/IIHFWorlds/featured

If no broadcaster had TV rights in Hungary, all matches replays should be here, if you had a broadcster with TV rights, you have to wait, the replays should be added here after the 15 days waiting period

    • Weightlifting formula is more or less similar to 2020 which was considered terrible by everybody!    this is a tough sport, you can't be in your best shape for too many events. there will be risks of serious injuries this way. with these rules you need 5 good results to qualify. if you bomb out in an event to score a zero you are out of the Olympics unless you replace it with another event. which means most of these poor guys have to participate in 7-8 events (and not just 5) to make up for possible bomb outs.    most importantly if you get injured anytime during this period (almost 2 years) you are out of the Olympics! that's how Sohrab Moradi missed the Tokyo Olympics despite breaking the WR during the qualification period. you can miss the Olympics in 2028 if you get injured late 2026 !  Karlos Nasar couldn't win the Olympic title if we had these rules in 2024   I understand 2024 qualification formula wasn't great either, it had its own flaws but this one is much worse for threatening athletes' health.
