in addition to the first 10 athletes per weapon (max 1 per NOC), 3 more men and 3 more women will get their spot at the YOG 2018 based on a very controversial (and subject to different interpretations) ranking...

those places should go to:

Veronika Bieleszova (CZE), Europe (Women's Epee)

Katina Proestakis (CHI), Pan-America (Women's Foil)

Chen Yi-Tung (TPE), Asia (Men's Foil)

Christiaan Bester (RSA), Africa (Men's Epee)

meanwhile I have absolutely no idea of how to spread the 2 spots reserved to Oceania: according to the World Champs and the Asia & Oceania Continental Champs results, Australia should get a place in the Women's Foil (their best event in Verona) and the same should happen to New Zealand, who only participated in that competition...

but this would break the "max 1 per weapon" rule...

so, there's a chance that AUS would be forced to select someone in the men or women's Sabre, meanwhile, if they want to give the second spot to Oceania at any cost, they can only let them participate in the only event they entered in both the World and Continental Champs (which is the Women's Foil)...

therefore, I guess it's better to wait for some official comunication before taking this list for granted...:mumble:

"This includes solutions regarding the qualification of the Israeli athletes to the Youth Olympic Games Buenos Aires 2018 so they are not disadvantaged."

  • Latest Posts around Totallympics

    • Still wouldn't want an iconic dog around me though
    • Can't think of anything more efficient than creating a department on government efficiency and nominating not one but two people to lead it.   This has really strong "giving the two most annoying people you know busywork" energy
    • About the pictograms: I usually fail to see how they are tied to some city or country anyway, a slightly different line or font isn't going to make me think "Ah, Italy!" or "Yep, that's China!", so I am very happy with these ones  They look super recognizable, especially for the Summer Olympics it's often a puzzle to connect every pictogram with a sport, here it's very clear
    • It's not just some dog, Babydog is an icon of West Virginian politics!
    • Meanwhile also Elon Musk ('Government Efficiency') and some FOX News guy (Defense) have been put forward as likely nominees for ministerial posts. For now at least, we know there's going to be a 4 year tombola with people being hired as 'the best ever' and fired as 'a big loser' depending on how long they openly stay loyal to Trump (his words basically, loyalty to him personally is more important than good government).
    • Imagine being a senator and even there having to have someone else's dog around you at a place where you're supposed to be able to focus on important things
    • Fingers crossed the women’s curling gold medal match also undergoes changes, very preferably an hour earlier so it doesn’t conflict with the men’s hockey gold medal match    Seriously, what were they thinking
    • And yet another version is out . This time with some more noticeable changes.   Ice Hockey: Women's semifinals moved from the Rho Arena to the Santa Giulia Arena Women's gold medal game moved up to a 19:10 start time (was previous 20:10)   Speed Skating: Most of the events have had their session cut by somewhere between 5 and 30 minutes. Start times remain the same   Figure Skating: Looks like the order of events in team event is now: Ice Dance -> Pairs -> Women. Women were previously listed first.   Alpine Skiing: Downhill portion of the team combined cut by 45 minutes 1st Run of the Giant Slalom and Slalom events cut by 30 minutes   Ski Mountaineering: Sprint heats extended by 8 minutes. Finals session extended by 13 minutes   Ski Jumping: All sessions shortened by 5 to 15 minutes
    • Detailed Competition schedule with start times is out   20241031_MiCo2026 Para Comp Schedule Version 4.pdf
