Recommended Posts

Another place for Mexico, Ricardo Vargas in 1500m Free 15:14.18 in Charlotte, today.

Now we have 3 directly qualified athletes, instead of 1 like in London.

The European swimming championships have begun. Besides being a good event to push people to reach the A standard it is the event where some nations will finalize their team. For Denmark, Netherlands and Spain this will be the final opportunity for their athletes to qualify while for Russia this is the event for athletes given a second opportunity to be added to the team. For Italy this is the second event (out of 3) where athletes can qualify to the Olympic team.

With her start of the 4x100m relay, Pernille Blume has also beat the danish mark for the 100m freestyle, meaning that she is qualified for both the 50 and 100m.

Dion Dreesens posts a 1:46.93 as first swimmer in the 4x200 heats, 0.05s faster than the Dutch standard and so he qualified for Rio :d

Forget that. Since he did it as starting swimmer in a relay, the Dutch federation won't accept it and he's not qualified after all.

Do everyone know about the German qualifications system?

Philip Heintz (200m medley) swam at Mare Nostrum Tour in Monaco: At Heat: 2:01.70 and at final: 2:00.56

the qualification times: Heat: 2:02.87, Final: 2:01.43

But on the published list from DSV there is no name from him ( pic.twitter.com/bXgs9Zz3ZI ).

Phillip Heintz swam outside the FINA A-cut (2:00.28).

    • I still shocks, that a country of 4-5 million inhabitants? can be a powerhouse in almost every winter sport + handball, football (most recently with Haaland) and athletics: Ingebrigtsen, Warholm, etc. With such a small population, they can't be missing out on any major talent, surely? This must be the best training system in the world...
    • FIFA announced the stadium and time for each match   for  Iran, it will be 2 matches in LA (and not just 1) and 1 in Seattle and luckily we avoided playing in Canada. absolutely nothing against the country, but there are just too many douchebag Iranian groups in Vancouver trying to mix everything with their stupid politics. it's better to stay away from them.   that can happen in US too but less likely. playing in LA is more like playing at home, at least I hope so. 2022 Qatar was a disaster from our point of view, hopefully this one remains only about football.
