A new WR for W Speed!

In the Quarter-Finals, there were only athletes from :CHN:POL, and :KOR.  The hometown Jimin Jeong placed 4th, however.

Gold - Alexandra Mirosław :POL

Silver - Deng Lijuan :CHN

Bronze - Zhao Yafei :CHN

Congrats!

Now bring on the men tomorrow!

Emma Hunt doesn't seem to have the good mental forse for this sport... I think the USA should look for other people with a better mental or help Hunt solve her problem with a sports psychologist?

Great run for our polish start! I am so happy that they finally split this combined event from Tokyo 2020 for 3 seperate events in LA. I hope she will be still on top in 2028. But China has plenty if talented girls.

Asians should dominate this sport (especially among women) going forward. It's really one for the smaller sized people alas it requires a lot of technique (duh) and this is the main problem. But China, Korea & Southeast Asia should take the reigns going forward (well, Indonesia has visible presence in the sport already so they clearly spotted this opportunity).

Poland has a fundamental problem: outside of women's speed, it's practically doesn`t exist in other forms of this sport and even in women's speed, they only has one dominant athlete- Miroslaw, who is over 30. Other women are strong, but they don't guarantee medals. In men, Poland probably only has one athlete in the wide top- Dzienski. I wonder why they are only successful in women's speed, while in other forms of the sport, they have a huge prpblem to even enter into the top 16 at the World Championships/World Cup.

Men's Speed Qualis are done...

Proud to say that the :USA has three men moving forward.  Zach Hammer and Sam Watson are in the top 2 positions, and a rising star Michael Hom climbed into 5th position.

Glad to see Eric Noya Cardona :ESP through to the finals. :) He's always got a great attitude, and I love to see him succeed.

Probably the biggest upset was Ryo Omasa :JPN failing to make it through, considering he medalled three times this year on the WC Circuit.

5.078 was the cutoff time.  So fast!
