Italians waxed their skis with some high quality dog shit today I see

I don't think this is the problem. The slope was not at all suited to the characteristics of Pirovano, Goggia and Brignone. On Italian TV, the de profundis had already started before the race began.

During 2026 Olympics W Downhill and W Parallel Giant Slalom are on the same day (Day 2, Sunday). Poor Ledecka, she has to make a tough choice.

Snowboard is rather obvious choice for her, however. Still, it's a pity she may miss the downhill race.

Very fun course for a women's DH and not easy at all. Bravo to the Saalbach people. :yes

Breezy Johnson getting the gold is a tad surprising, if only you look at recent results, but let's not forget that 4-5 years ago she was doing excellent in the speed events, before her injury.

Don't know what happened with Team Italia, but they looked awful on this course :dunno:

Those evil Italians have made it on purpose, so she skips the DH :p :d (joking of course)

Actually for me it's more likely she does the DH and skips the snowboard, if it is her decision. She has been treating snowboard as an afterthought for years and it's clearly not a priority for her at all. Plus she already has 2 Golds there, so the itch is much bigger to get a DH medal.

I say if it's her decision, because i'm not sure how much power the Czech Olympic committee has, because they would a 100% take a secure medal in snowboard, than just a chance in DH.
