I don't know how soon that'll be though... and until then not holding my breath. Really wanted to see Caissie crushing balls at the Olympics, he deserved it for his play this tournament, and now he might not get the opportunity to. He's still young, but this will probably be Canada's best chance, and he'll only be around for Brisbane 2032 at best considering the bids in contention for 2036. 

 

It just sucks, constant disappointment for the Canadians this year with barely anything to cheer for, and coming so close only to come up short... I'd rather us have just lost in the group stage

But at the same time, super happy for  Venezuela. They were given a tough hand being in the same pool as the DR and facing Japan in the quarterfinals but still managed to reach the semifinals. They deserved this quota and if MLB players will be in the Olympics, I'm glad we'll be able to see Acuna and the rest of the Venezuelan superstars at the Olympics.

Someone here posted about how a lot of 's roster here wouldn't be able to play in the Olympics due to differing criteria of eligibility between the tournaments.  Does anyone know if the same is true for 's roster?  Per MLB's site, most of these guys were born in the USA, but perhaps many of them also have an Italian passport.
