Notable results (other than the times mentioned in this thread by others):

• Unkown skater  Hanna Damaratskaya skated 37,65 in the women's 500m in  Kolomna, the 2nd time of the season so far.
• Yevgeniy Koshkin finished in  34,56 in the men's 500m in Inzell, the 3rd time of the season so far.
•  Sanne in 't Hof skated a 6.54,97 in the women's 5.000m in  Heerenveen, more than 10 seconds faster than the number 2 time of the season.

Meanwhile at the Dutch World Cup qualifiers, we can kind of see that Ghiotto's unofficial WR on the 10k might not survive for very long  

 

Lots of especially younger guys are destroying their PB's (both on 5k and 10k) with the 'new' thing of skating the entire race with both arms on the back, including in the turns. I assume Ghiotto used that as well, as it's said to be 0.3 to 0.4 seconds of advantage per lap, which is incredible.

It's always so much fun when a breakaway actually works in the mass start.

 

Also, notable that Stolz actually won four gold medals - he also competed in the team pursuit.

Poland has a great talent in the women's divisions. Hanna Mazur is being very impressive in the junior World Cup so far, riding 39's as a 16 year old in super slow Tomaszow is really impressive.

Dutch speed skating world champion Joy Beune has broken records after posing for the cover of Playboy magazine for the first time in her homeland.

 

Not the first winter sports person to do this, Janine Flock was in  playboy, and someone less well known as well.
