I really don't like this new qualification based on time. You can win your heat and still not qualify. What if the wind changes and allows another heat better conditions? At the very least the winner and the 2nd place should automatically get a Q.

It's dumb. I thought EAA was starting to be sensible with the attempt to fix things like the French entry fiasco, and then they do stupid things like this.

Get the Ski Jumping statisticians on it to work out a Factored Time!

You joke, but I would bet that somewhere some official already suggested that.

Why not, I’m sure there must be enough raw source stats to get a meaningful indication.

Incidentally, combined discus stats here.

:CZE Marek Bárta - discuss throw,  without final😞. 4 metres behind his PB which he did this year which complicates his Olympic ranking as he is fighting for his Olympic debut .....

2nd heat of the Women’s 1500m going to give the Judges plenty of work.

Hmm I notice :GER Webel got advanced out of that heat.

Has been changed, she got nothing but :ITA Zenoni got DQFed for jostling.

According to English comms, Emanuelson is the first-ever :NED European Men’s Discus finalist!

And a bad day for Martynas Alekna. :LTU

Fake news: Cees Koch (1962), Erik De Bruin (1990) and Rutger Smith (2012)won medals, and De Bruin and Smith both finished in the top 8 once more.
