Fantastic for Nemour, what a moment it would be for her to take this historic gold of all places in France :yikes:

Some things we need to keep in mind about Nemour's medal:

She's actually :FRA and European, not :ALG and African. So this doesn't really count as an :ALG medal.

And anyway, :RUS athletes aren't here, and they dominate the uneven bar, so this is actually a bronze medal, not a gold medal.

(None of the above is in any way serious, it's just my impression of what a certain user would say if Nemour represented any country other than :ALG)

Nemour was insanely overscored. Without her backstory she never would have gotten an E score of 8.5. She seems to be the female Epke Zonderland, I am sure that this silly trend of flying around as much as possible while having an extremely bad execution won’t last. Otherwise they should just call it Cirque du Soleil.

Edit: Obviously she also has a huge advantage thanks to her height. It is much easier to switch from one bar to the other when you are that tall.

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

    • Interesting, for only 2 months i think i have seen some kind of coin from all of the big countries - Germany, Italy, Spain, Holland, France, Portugal, Belgium, Finland, Ireland and yes the 2 euro from Croatia. But some of them were the smaller ones, 10, 5, 2 cents.    Expectedly there aren't any from the smaller countries so far. Nothing from the Baltics, Cyprus, Slovenia, Malta, Andorra etc. But also a bit surprising i haven't seen any from Greece yet.    Don't know from what part of Italy are you, but it's safe to say that when summer hits there will be a lot of Bulgarians visiting Rome, so i'm sure they'll bring some of our coins to spread around.
    • I choose to collect only coins in circulation (and I have also found coins in circulation that should not be on the market; you can find a bit of everything). From my experience, it takes 4-5 years for coins to reach southern Italy, so I have no idea how it will work in Bulgaria. Incidentally, I am curious to see when I will see my first Bulgarian coin. I have not yet seen a Croatian coin (introduced in 2023!).
    • Yes, i saw that there are a lot of commemorative coins. But to get some of those, i would need to buy them, as i don't know how much of them are in circulation. And the chances of such making it to Bulgaria are rather slim.    Still, if i find some sports ones on a good price, maybe i will order a few.
