I don't know the rules, and I don't care what they have to do to make Maggie happy but they have to do it!

It's a bit complicated. Just like there are athlete quota limits, there are also limits for coaches and support staff. In total, there can only be around 5000 coaches and support staff.

Canada has a set amount of personnel they can send which is further split by sport. While I agree with the removal of the rule that the personnel must work in Canada for a certain amount of time, it becomes tricky to send a coach whose focus is on a single athlete.

For MacNeil's case, who is in contention to win four medals I would make the decision to bring them. Canada brings too few swimming coaches, given the size of team.

    • Do you think there will be some new NOCs which will compete in 2026 Olympics but never competed in the winter Games before?

    • We have much more events and there may be no Russia in 2026 so most of the NOCs should improve. But not Poland i’m afraid
    • I’ve had 2weeks long Olympic holidays each time since i graduated from the university in ancient times of year 2003   Both winter and summer. Always.   i had those olympic holidays in every job contract 😉
    • For sure better for  one silver - I think it was Shelly Rudman, Skeleton.  Can definitely improve on that.   Still remember it as a good games, though - think it was the first time I took two weeks off work to watch a Winter Games.
