Those 400m free times are insane

 

Woo-min was about 3 seconds slower than his World Championship winning time, but the Aussie pair are way ahead of that, with Winnington only .19 off his PB already

She was all over the lane even hitting the lane rope. If she can tidy that up indoors at trials she's gong 57 something for sure.

 

It was another great session but the men's 200 free was a bit of a fizzer.

Did she say that she will swim it at trials?

Absolutely don’t see her swimming it at the Olympics.

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

It doesn't clash with anything at trials and there's a small chance if breaststrokers fail to deliver at trials then Kaylee will be our best option for breaststroke in the medley relay so they might use Mollie for the backstroke leg. Something like O'Callaghan/McKeown/McKeon/Jack. She'd probably want to swim it anyway just to put down a tapered time in ideal conditions.

400 freestyle times from today:

3:41.98 for Lukas Märtens

3:43.81 for Oliver Klemet

3  x 3:41s already in April and Hafnaoui hasn't even revealed his hand yet (and probably won't until Paris). Maybe Kim Woomin can drop more as well. Klemet's should be 3:42.81 tho right?

      Team Size Prediction for Winter Olympic Games 2026 Milano Cortina   Let's do this for a country that is not actually that good in winter sports as well as our Olympic Committee Declining lots of places.       I remember Caroline Golubitsky. She competed with Vezzali for a while but not for long. Rita Konig, whom Vezzali defeated in the final of the Olympic Games in 2000, was more famous, as well as Sabine Bau and Anja Mueller. From what I remember, the Germans competed fiercely with us at some point, but they almost always lost.

      Shemyakina won a bronze medal in 2014 Worlds and was one of our leader but leave the squad due to pregnancy (she has 2 daughters if I'm not mistaking, so she chose family instead of sport). And speaking of foil we have back in the day Sergiy Golubitskyi, who was Olympic silver medalist and won some medals in other competitions and coached his wife Caroline Golubitskyi - one of the German foil specialists. Even in women's foil we had medal in Women's foil at the European championship - it was Olha Leleiko, our current national coach. So no, we are pretty good fencing country, and depending on generations of our athletes some events are more "profitable" for us and some don't.

      Shemyakina that was a very strange story. She unexpectedly won the games but before and after she literally achieved nothing. After that success in 2012 she also completely disappeared. It's only in epee that such strange situations. That's why I've always preferred foil and sabre, because the top was more stable there, although that's changing now. The competition has grown a lot all over the world.
