If being realistic, surely you didn't expect much more than 1-2 medals..? Or do you mean something like us and our swimming? --> in Rio we didn't expect more than 1 medal or so, which looking at past years just shows how much of a mess our swimming has become :p

1 medal in men's, the eights and lightweight double. So 1/3

Our Olympic committee is appealing over the photo finish in men's single sculls.

Also, accoring to FISA's own rulebook, Drysdale and Martin should have both won gold apparently.

I really hope he gets the decision and gets a ceremony for his gold medal if it goes his way :)

That would be cool :)

Rulebook apparently says that dead heat happens when two or more boats cross the finish line in the same time. Hundredths of a second are used as time reference and everything within one hundredth is declared as dead heat. In case of dead heat all sides get same placing.

They also found an example from World junior championships when that rule was applied and two medals of the same color were handed,

He has a great case then both morally and in terms of the rules :)

    • Yeah. It was pretty bad that they cancel the contract with the original creative director after 7 months of work. I feel like politics, in this particular context of the changing of prime minister and the cabinet, may had caused changes in organizational decisions regarding the Sea Games including the direction of the opening ceremony.
    • That's what I figured.  Wouldn't be a proper lead up to an Olympics without some media-fueled fearmongering.
    • Today : Jordan 3-0 Egypt  This team will surprise us
    • option no.2 for sure, as it's been all this shitstorm organized by the nhl owners through their embedded reporters   ps not that the north american audience looks really aware of the hockey rules and habits outside the nhl (and around their game, too, since they look not to know that just a couple of weeks ago they played 2 nhl matches on an ice sheet of the exact same size of Milan's olympic arena)
    • Are we supposed to take Daly's word for it or is this just public posturing to try and shame the Milan organizers (which they certainly deserve for all the delays) in order to threaten NHL participation?
    • Well that was a disappointing opening ceremony. Not to mention the boss is late too...   Anyway this is another victim of bureaucracy, the initial creative director quit in October and we get this kind of show.   Original plan: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/17EVayTpig/
    • Japan missed their last shot with hammer in the 10th last night against the Philippines for them to stay alive.  USA's remaining 2 games are against Philippines and Netherlands, so they have a tough road ahead, although they've already beaten Japan, so that helps for tiebreaker purposes.
