In really the 1st day was a complete disaster, we lose a lot of gold possibility (Nibali and Fiamingo) and some medals like men's archery team, shooting (both event) and the 4x100 relay

Ok ...

You never had a realistic chance for a medal in shooting or the relay. Nibali got extremely unlucky, bot before the start of the races he wasnt the favorite for gold. I think if someone wouldve said that Italy will win one medals out of mens road race and mens 400 m free then most italian fans wouldve been pretty happy with that. Of course you are right about your mens archery team, it was really disappointing that they didnt win a medal. Fiamingo wasnt the big favorite for gold, but of course she shouldve beaten the girl from Hungary, i think silver is a good result for her. Today you could win 1 or 2 very surprising medals in judo.

I think so far out of the best nations Australia, Hungary and USA have overperformed the most. Australia won a surprising gold in mens 400 m free and a very surprising bronze in mens team archery. Hungary won a surprising gold in womens epee and USA won a very surprising gold in womens 10 m air rifle and a surprising silver medal in womens 4x100 m free relay.

I'm surprise too and i'm happy for every good results. We must have a complete visual of the day and not a partially.

In the shooting Giuseppe was a great outsider and Petra Zublasing is the world champions in the 50m.

In the relay we had a good time in the heats.

In the relay Australia, Netherlands, USA and Canada were clearly ahead of your relay, i think a medal for Italy would have been as big of a surprise as Greece winning 2004 football european championships. In shooting your athletes also were clear underdogs, i think Rossi today has a good shot for gold and your athletes were also very good in mens trap, you can be very proud so far in my opinion.

    • The only ones complaining about the short track refs are Italians, imo. Not even on this forum, but in general, from what I've been seeing on live chats and other social media sites. That says a lot to be honest. I suspect it's partially due to them not performing to the high standard they're expected to perform at especially at the Olympics. The refs make a lot of mistakes for everyone, there's no bias against or towards anyone    Plus, Italy have won 6 medals already.... the most you've won at a Worlds since 2016.
    • For me they gave Canada the gold in the relay in exchange for a 1000-meter dsq gold for Dandjinou, that's how I see it. It was a battle between Kor and Can on 2 of this case. It's hard to say why that last dsq for Kor was in relay? Of course, Italy win bronze thanks for that, but that's not really important. It would have been better if the referees had just stayed out of the results and left it as it was decided for fight on the ice.

    • the quata for europe or australia is from the primer 12, where the top 20 teams will participate, sadly  is the 21th team so the only slight chance for us in my opinion is if: we get top 2 at the european championship (not including  hopefully if they get the quata), then somehow win the final qualification tournament against i assume  and one of    the chances for us are slim, i think about 4 other team sports  have a better chance in in my opinion(and the most team sports we ever had was one, and it was the last two time after a long time )

    • well, Cuba and Venezuela for sure...   Iran is a different question, but I hope in 2 years all this war shit is done and dusted and at least in the sports world everything is gonna be OK
    • In my opinion the Italian team has been playing above expectations since last year after several years of decline. Last year, we advanced to the first division at the European Championships and now they're playing very close matches against the strong India and Scotland. We a little miss a potential to do more – we are only 18th in the world rankings. Our men's team's performance in this sport is much weaker.
