German commentator (and co-commentator Marco Büchel) are angry about there being two downhills both here and in Kitzbühel. Both because it might be too tough on the athletes, but also because it devalues the classics: there should be one Streif winner, one Lauberhorn winner, it becomes less special if there's more of them.

What can you do, so many early season cancellations. Unfortunately the January classics have to double up or you have a 5 race WC.

Austrian TV reported about a broken leg (open fracture), which means that we lost him for the season

In English it’s called a greenstick fracture - ie the bone protrudes through the flesh.  :surprise:

Yeah that's what I meant with my other post :p In terms of rescheduling, sometimes there just isn't much choice, but for example Kitzbühel is simply a scheduled double header for some reason (money, I know), which simply makes the Streif win less....well, classic.

yeah, luckily there's no greenstick fracture as by the early reports

the situation is not ideal, but way lighter than what a broken femur would mean

The Croats seem to be finding their form again in the Slalom. Second week in-a-row with one in the top 10 and 3 in the top 30 after the first run.
